Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week 4)

Love that Janish and Fransisco can come in and not only hold their own but make a big difference in the game.

Janish can play some. He seems to have figured some things out this year and is a bit better hitter. Great in the field.

Dickerson will not join the Reds in Chicago because he went to California due to his grandfather's death. The Reds have some very tough decisions coming up. The Reds plan on adding Dickerson and Isringhausen in the near future, and also would like to add Corky Miller to the roster as a 3rd catcher for September. Dickerson is on the 60 day DL, so he isn't on the 40 man roster, and Isringhausen and Miller would have to be added to the 40 man roster as well. That means the Reds would have to choice 3 from the list below to remove from the 40 man roster.

Yonder Alonso, Drew Sutton, Chris Valaika, Jared Burton, Aroldis Chapman, Enerio Del Rosario, Carlos Fisher, Daniel Ray Herrera, Sam LeCure, Matt Maloney, Micah Owings and Phillippe Valiquette.

My guess would be Herrera, Owings, Sutton.

I'd go Sutton, Herrera, and Del Rosario.

I'd give Russ Springer a few more appearances & see how he looks. With the way Burton & Chapman are throwing, plus Izzy, Springer may actually be one of the odd men out...

The front page of ESPNs baseball page is an article of Aroldis Chapman...

I think he left yesterday's game w/ some sort of back issue.

With a lot of people clamoring for the Reds to do something to improve the OF, and with them seemingly in free-fall, anyone think there's any chance the Reds could try to work something out with the Tigers for Johnny Damon?

I don't see why they wouldn't entertain any offers. They are talking o the Cards about Inge, so I can see them maybe get rid of another player or two.

I've heard Inge, Damon, and Guillen's names being mentioned as 3 guys they'd like to rid themselves of, if they throw in the towel...I think Damon or Guillen (with Cabrera sidelined) would help the Reds.

So I thought you were talking about Miguel since everyone was talking about the Tigers. I was freaking out because he is on my fantasy team. But then quickly realized you were talking about Orlando.

Probably good choices to come off the 40 man with maybe Del Rosario.

I am not ready to hand anything to Izzy just yet. He was not very good when St Louis let him go and he only pitched a handful of innings with TBay in 2009 before going on the shelf.
