July 27, 201016 yr I think you need to give Dickerson a chance to win his job back. He is hitting .400 in AAA. Unless you can find someone that is going to fill in a long term need.

I have no problem with that option either. But at the latest he needs to be in Cincinnati when the series starts with ATL friday, if the Reds are going that route. Either way, I don't think adding one hitter to the lineup is enough. They will still need a #5 hitter if they have hopes of making the playoffs.
July 27, 201016 yr Let's hope the Red's brass is doing as much homework as we are on here. Highly likely you won't see them make any moves IMO.
July 27, 201016 yr Highly likely you won't see them make any moves IMO. Why do you think that? They have stockpiled a lot of good young talent and they have to be seeing the same thing we are seeing, a team that has played .500 ball for the last 2 months. If they can get a player or two that can help this team offensively without adding a lot of payroll why do you think they won't do that?
July 27, 201016 yr Posednik is fragile. Can he make it a full season? He's also primarily a LF, although he can play CF. He could help the club, though. If nothing else, it would be nice having his wife around in Cincy.

July 27, 201016 yr Playing Heisey more not an option at this time? Doesn't really solve the more important issue, IMO. The need for a leadoff man.
July 27, 201016 yr Call up the Mets for Angel Pagan, then if you dont have any luck Walt give the Dbacks a call for Chris Young.
July 27, 201016 yr It was funny, with all the talk of Pods on here, Podsednik and when I pull up the MLB trade rumors his name comes up. Giants, Padres and Dodgers all showing interest, he is a great rental for the stretch run. He was on that 2005 White Sox World Series team, so he has all the experience in the world and is a guy you would love to have on your roster this time of year.
July 27, 201016 yr I think we need to look at Werth. Werth is expensive & would be a rental player. Podsednik's deal would most likely expire at the end of this season, too.
July 27, 201016 yr I like the idea of pursuing Podsednik, too. Especially with his base stealing skills and OBP. I just think this teams lacking a bat in the middle of the lineup also in the 5th or 6th hole.
