Simmons seems to think Boston or Houston are the only places that could make it work. If it's Orlando Nelson would be in the trade. NO is going to try to include either Okafor or Posey in the deal. I think Paul waited to long to demand this trade. Teams could have done this three weeks ago.

I think Orlando will try to put Nelson in the deal, but I don't see NO taking him. Getting him means less minutes for Collison. I know Nelson made an All-Star team, but going forward which player would you take? A guy that is young and talented or a small, older guy who is a shoot-first, pass-never PG?

 

I don't see how Boston gets involved. They could give up Rondo but would they do that now? Would NO want another PG in return? They have so many other needs and have a young and talented PG ready to take over. I think a wing or a post or even Cap space better suits what NO can get in return.

 

I don't know why he'd want to go to Houston. He can play with Yao, but Yao is always an injury waiting to happen. Playing with Kevin Martin could be interesting though. I still think Yao severely limits the maximum potential Paul could have in Houston.

Houston or Portland would be the same way IMO. Any of those teams would instantly move to the top of their conference.

 

CP3, Roy, Aldridge, and a healthy Oden would be the 2nd best team in the West IMO, and a legit threat to the Lakers.

Only 7 different teams have won the championship since 1983. 27 years and only 7 teams have won it (Celtics-3, Lakers-8, Spurs-4, Heat-1, Pistons-3, Bulls- 6, Rockets- 2). Yes teams have made runs and been good for a short period of time (Cavaliers are a good example) but there has not really been that much variety of winning.

They have been willing to give up anyone not named Howard. NO won't want Lewis or Nelson I wouldn't imagine. They have alot of guys, they may have to send VC and a bunch of guys.

 

LA could send Bynum, but would they? Jackson doesn't really use a PG in the triangle (and never has), and taking Bynum out of their rotation makes Gasol have to play Center, which severely limits his value IMO. He's a great PF, but an average Center to me. CP3 would improve their talent level, but I personally don't see how it makes them that much better.

 

NY would have to make some other moves to get him. They would need to send Felton out somewhere, but I couldn't see NO wanting him in a trade. Curry would be involved with the Hornets I would guess. I'm sure they'd rather give up Wilson Chandler, but Gallinari may have to be included.

 

 

If a trade happens, I think Portland could be a wildcard IF Paul will go there. They could offer alot and still keep Roy and Aldridge IMO.

And Houston was very lucky that MJ was suspended. MJ and Magic are hypocrites too. They both played with fantastic players so they didn't have to team up to beat other good players. They were already on teams w/ HOF sidekicks. Jordan didn't catch Bird or Magic in their absolute primes either. The next best guard/wing in Jordan's generation was his teammate.

How are they hypocrites? They didn't leave the team that drafted them to go form an alleged super team with one another. Also, none of their HOF sidekicks were in the top 10 in players in the NBA(Kareem being the only notable exception, Pippen also, but still a way different scenario than The Decision). LeBron and DWade are the 2nd and 3rd best players in the NBA and Bosh is top 15 and LeBron tucked tail to go play with them. MJ, Magic and Bird each went to their situation with their drafted teams and became top 5 players of all time after leading their teams that drafted them to multiple titles. Something LeBron will never know anything about. :eyeonyou:

CP3 to the Lakers would work. Especially with Phil leaving after this year. Could be running a whole new system in a year anyways. CP3 to the Lakers would add 3-4 years onto Kobe's career also. Provided Kobe could handle being the 2nd best player on the team in about 2 years. :sssh::confused::idunno:

I have heard nothing but great things about Paul off the court and what he has done on the court speaks for itself. But what he is doing now is just downright crap, can't use the other word on this site.

 

It came out a while ago he wanted to play with Amare in NY and now this, so everyone is going to talk about how great team so and so can be with him and not the fact he is holding the franchise hostage because he wants to go play with his "friends". If you want to do what Lebron or Bosh did, fine, how about your FULFULL YOUR CONTRACT and then go play elsewhere. Acting like a brat just to get your way is ridiculous, I can only hope New Orleans ships him off to somewhere awful before the season starts.

I don't think he is acting like a brat by requesting a trade. Unless he says he won't play unless he's traded then all I see him doing is trying another avenue besides free agency to land on a team he wants to play for. Keep in mind, a month ago it was the Hornets that were rumored to be shopping CP3 around. Now he's a brat for making a request to the team if they do trade him? Hardly seems fair. The new owner had to go do damage control with CP3 because of those rumors of I am not mistaken.
