Good ruling. State and local governments should not be able to ban something that is afforded under the Constitution.

Agreed.

Chicago has turned into the wild wild west.

52 shot two weekends ago.

29 shot this past weekend.

So it doesn't appear that Chicago's 28 yr ban on handguns is doing much good.

Laws banning guns are only going to limit the number of law abiding citizens that can defend themselves against criminals. Regardless of the law, criminals will be packing.

If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!

I thought Rush had it right today when he said that the Supreme Court was asked to vote on the 2nd Amendment and the 2nd Amendment passed 5-4.

Which proves that gun laws only work on law abiding citizens, not criminals.

I for one am very happy to see this pass.

Which proves that gun laws only work on law abiding citizens, not criminals.

I wasn't making a comment on the ruling. Those numbers are just stunning.

Which proves that gun laws only work on law abiding citizens, not criminals.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement. Especially as we have no recent data whatsoever to compare the number of gun deaths at the hands of legal gun owners in Chicago to those of the illegal gun owners.

It will be interesting to see what happens to those numbers in Chicago once the ruling trickles down and reverses the current ban.

Which proves that gun laws only work on law abiding citizens, not criminals.

How so?

How so?

Wouldn't 100% of the shootings in Chicago be done by criminals, prior to the Supreme Court ruling?

How so?

If you aren't obeying the law you aren't a law abiding citizen.
