June 16, 201016 yr I am one College fan that is glad he is staying. He is good for the game. I agree. It would have been cool to see him coach Lebron but if he was going to a Lebron-less Cavs team, I'd rather him just stay at Michigan St.
June 16, 201016 yr I don't think LeBron knows what he's going to do. He's going to have a tough choice, leaving his home town team and more money for a big stage. Money really has nothing to do with it does it? My understanding of the NBA salary structure is that he will make the same no matter where he goes will he not?
June 16, 201016 yr Tom Izzo is a good college basketball coach. Tom Izzo is very high maintanence from what I have been told. He needs a little love, attention, and leverage to get his money and his desires and wants at Michigan State. The outcome of his whole Cleveland drama was very predictable.

June 18, 201016 yr Glad Izzo is staying. It is great for the college game. I was going to say the exact same thing. Izzo is good for college basketball.
June 22, 201016 yr Author It's been said several times that Lebron can make up to $30M more in Cleveland than if he goes somewhere else, I think having a chance to win is the biggest part of this decision for him. James' salary may be $30 million more in Cleveland, but the money for extracurriculars & endorsements will be much greater than that in NY or even Chicago.

June 22, 201016 yr I would be willing to bet that Izzo got Lebron's number, called him to see what he was going to do, when Izzo heard 'I don't know', he made his decision to stay. I cannot blame him one bit.

NY can actually make up alot of that salary, since they have struggled they can put in a playoff bonus. I forget the percentage and what the cut off was for them to be eligible but it could substantially increase the amount of money LeBron or another FA could make by signing with them and they definitely have it to use this off-season.
