Boo:rolleyes: A kid can get hurt doing anything. I am pretty sure that is in the definition of "kid". This is the last chance to play in a meaningless game for all of them....and just have fun. From here on out it's over or in college, it's all/mostly business.

Considering the risk verses the rewards of this All Star game , I'm shocked to see the players with schollys playing in this game . Yea its their last highschool game , big deal , they are going to play in college so its not like their last game ever. I hope everyone that plays in this game comes out of it injury free.

Practicing and then playing the game that they have played, more than likely, for a very long time. There's no risk greater or lesser than the previous time. When you worry about injury, injury will usually occur. These KIDS have a chance to be appreciated by all of NKY and experience playing with boys from other area schools. The only players that have the obligation to their scholly, is simpson, collinsworth, and nichols. I would understand their choices....And before I get pounced upon, I know it is not my job to empathize with their decision making but I think they are just going to miss a golden opportunity to do what they enjoy most.

I agree with you Auscar, it really is a big risk and IDK if I would play if I was him. But hey, it's one last chance to represent his school. If he feels confident in playing, then I think he should go for it. This game was definetly a lot of fun when I played in it years back. That's what it's all about.

You are correct the offense will be very basic. Basically just of matter of kids making plays a lot of letting kids have fun. That's what it is all about.

Why are these three players the exception ? If your an 18 year old high school senior and are mature enough to join the military , then I think you are not a kid. Joing the military is a major roll in society and shows great responsibility ,wouldn't you think . As far as your statement on injuries , it's called , calculated risk.

So Highlands' entire starting Defensive line is playing in this as well as Welz-big TE and Scholler starting OL. Nice representation where the guys that get it done in the trenches get recognized.

I thought to play in this game you had to have been selected All-Conference. Were all of these players selected as such? I honestly have no idea, just asking.

I believe the only ones at Ryle to be considered were the boys that were selected All-Conference. Maybe it's just a Ryle thing.

You don't have to be all conference. Each team gets to send a certain number, and it doesn't matter who they are.

I understand your view but disagree. 18 years, and there is a good chance many of these boys have not reached that age yet, does not signify maturity by any means. The kids who i named that i feel could be exempt are because they have an intention to play at big time schools (I actually could have left nichols off, due to the nature of his position). I hope for all of the best players in NKY to play and their HS coaches promote this game to make it a true All-Star game.

Watching the all star game will be great , after all , it's football. The stars that aren't playing in this game can be seen playing at a local college near you.( I hope that didn't sound like a commercial )

Schlosser and Dierig were both first team all-conference. The other three are very good football players and I'm sure they'll play their hearts out. Congratulations to all those playing in this game.
