Heard from some kids playing on the west that Miles will not be playing.

 

He was at practice today, so one would have to assume he's playing.

We will start our broadcast at 6:30pm. Conner Coach Dave Trosper will join me in the booth. We will also have our new sideline reporter, Ron Remley talking to some of the players on the sidelines after they play to get their prespective on their senior season and heading off to college.

 

Should be a great night of football!!!

Miles showed up and asked to be able to play yesterday. He will be playing only safety.

The kid I heard from is a close friend so we will see.

After reading most of the posts and many others in this thread and other, I must ask, who is this game for? the kids or the armchair qbs who perhaps cant get over their hs careers. Lets quit arguing over why this kid is playing and this kid isnt. It really doesnt matter imo whether they play or not. Its their choice to play and its their choice not to play. Its not yours or mine so lets just get over it. Lets everyone quit saying that is "ashame" or "too bad" because you know what, it is none of those. This game is for the kids, not the wannabes and lets support the kids who chose to play and lets just hope that all have fun and the game is injury free. And of course lets hope the Highlands team wins. LOL.

Ouch! "Armchair QB, Wannabe, Can't get over HS Career." I'm guessing you included me, since I am the one that opened up the question of Scholarship guys not playing. Interesting, I don't think I have ever been put in any of those categories; maybe a Has Been, Washed Up or Old and broken down (according to my sons). I played in this game, played D1(walk on) and currently donate hundreds of hours a year coaching young men at the high school level, so I think that I can legitimately raise the question. Of course the game is for the kids, who else would it be for? You are right again, it is their choice to play or not to play until Coach Kelly or Coach Phillips say no... Pretty sure Coach Kelly said no. Also, no one said that they weren't supporting the kids that are playing, just the opposite, it is an honor to be asked to play. These kids that are headed to college to play at any level now for a lack of better terms are the property of those colleges and rightfully so. The game has changed from the days that most of us played and the stakes are much much higher.
