Track the Reds (Week 9)

I always felt like he could make a positive impact on the club in the leadership dept. if nothing else. Let's hope he can stay healthy ...

As a veteran clubhouse presence, he is the polar opposite of Dunn and Griffey which was exactly what this young team needed IMO...

Precisely.

The Reds are 57-27 with Scott Rolen in the starting lineup since the trade last year. Pretty impressive stat...

I hate to watch games when he doesn't start because the results are usually not good.

Another question about Dusty. Most managers who gives there stars days off do it one per game. Yet yesterday, Dusty gives three starters off at the same time. Yes, Votto is hurt and playing Nix for Stubbs is OK but Stubbs have been hot and with his speed can sometimes steal us a run. I just don't see how you can give Rolen a day off knowing Votto is also on the bench. The Reds lost the flow of their offense.

vs. Jamie Garcia (4-2, 1.18 ERA)

I have a buddy who has been speculating for the better part of the last week that Joey Votto's absence may be related to the psychological issue that caused his stint on the DL in 2009, and the stiff neck is cover. I dismissed his suggestion for the first couple of games Votto was out but am now starting to wonder.

I heard both Marty and Jeff Brantley commenting on how Votto was barely even able to jog in the outfield because of his neck. Marty is not one to cover something like this up.

We got to meet Marty at the game yesterday when he came in our booth. Seemed like a really nice guy in person.

I went to the game too. Sounds like you had better seats. :D

Why are we pitching to him?

You consider that pitching to him?

I was so happy to meet Marty back in 2009 at the Reds caravan here in Maysville. I know a lot of people, my dad included, liked Joe more, but Marty is a legend in the business.

Anyhoo, the Reds don't pitch to Pujols and look what happens, that runner stays stranded at second.

Here is what I had Marty sign, he was really blown away by it and enjoyed looking at it for a few. : )
