May 12, 201016 yr I'm drafting John Wall... We'll see if I made a good call or not. :thumb: I'll go with Wall, because I think he has the potential to be the best of them all. It's risk vs. reward. There's more risk because Wall is the biggest unknown. There's reward because he may be the most physically gifted guy in the group, so he could ultimately be the best. The thread said the goal was to make a run in a 5-7 year time frame...Wall should be hitting his prime at just the right time. If I'm just picking between the current NBA players, it's a tough call. I agree with HT that it's hard to pick when you don't know who else will be on the roster. I'd probably go with Derrick Rose. I like his combination of size and athleticism. I'm a big Deron Williams fan as well. Right now, I like him the best, but like Wall, I think Rose has the potential to surpass the rest. My list would be... 1. John Wall 2. Derrick Rose 3. Russell Westbrook
May 12, 201016 yr Give me Williams. I can see Rose changing my mind in a year or two but Williams does it all. He's a great outside shooter, excellent driver, excellent passer, great court vision, stronger than most PG's etc. I'm taking him all day every day.
May 12, 201016 yr I am going to take Rondo, because he is young and has realy just started to come into his own and many are saying it is now his team ,thats a pretty big statement considering he is probably playing with three future hall of famers . Rondo has really stepped his game up and made vast improvements in his free throw shooting and 3 point shooting . If he continues to improve he can be a scary opponent or matchup.
May 12, 201016 yr If you would have asked me two seasons ago, I would have said Chris Paul. I thought he was poised to be one of the top 3-5 players in the NBA. Injuries and other factors may have derailed that. I would go with Deron Williams. Even though there is something about Deron Williams and his game I do not care for. Not sure what it is. Maybe it is the winner jean I fell he does not have (yet). Same here but I don't know what it is. If Westbrook can learn how to shoot I will take my pick back and take him.

But, given a 5-7 year time frame, I would surprised to see him in the league playing at the same level. For 1-2 years, give me Nash and his experience. But not long term at this stage of his career.
May 12, 201016 yr Rondo - he has shown he can play with great players, and still get his too. I agree. If I took over a team and Rondo was already there, he would be my PG without a doubt. No need in trading for or drafting another PG when you have one of the best in the league right there. He would be on my short list if I didn't have that franchise type PG.

Maybe not next 5-7 but 3-4. If it's 5-7 then yes I go Deron Williams and Chris Paul, followed by Rondo, Rose, and Wall.
