While the obvious thing is to load up at each position, think of chemistry and remember there is only one basketball out there and some quality teams to go against. Simply, this thread we will start with point guards ONLY!!! Do you go with Chris Paul or Derrick Rose? Do you go with a Rajon Rondo who can help across the board? Or do you go with the young stud in the draft of John Wall? How about the cagey veteran that can lead your squad over the next few years, Steve Nash? Or maybe the most underrated and underappreciated DWilliams? Or what about the breakout star of Westbrook from the Thunder? State your pick and your reasoning. Tomorrow night, we will look at Shooting guards to add to your point guards. Following night, small forwards than power forwards than centers and lastly 3 bench players and finally a coach to lead the way for you.
May 12, 201016 yr Give me Deron Williams, slightly over my boy Chris Paul. Williams is one of the biggest PG's in the league, and is becoming a savvy veteran. He is athletic, and can play in any style of offense or game. Deron Williams can get you 30 points if you need it, shut down other PGs, and/or get you a boatload of assist. I also think his game is the least likely of all the younger PGs to depreciate because of athleticism. Paul is always going to be good. Who knows how good Rondo, Rose, and Wall will be when their athleticism starts to leave them? I'm sure they will acquire crafty moves and such, but I think Deron Williams is guaranteed to be a great PG until his early to mid-30s, barring major injury.

If you would have asked me two seasons ago, I would have said Chris Paul. I thought he was poised to be one of the top 3-5 players in the NBA. Injuries and other factors may have derailed that. I would go with Deron Williams. Even though there is something about Deron Williams and his game I do not care for. Not sure what it is. Maybe it is the winner gene I fell he does not have (yet). May 12, 201016 yr I am taking Derrick Rose. He is younger than all of them. Has had a taste of the playoffs and I truly believe that in the next 5-7 years I think he'll be the best pg of this group. If I am starting a team to make a run over the next 5-7 years, DRose is my floor general.
May 12, 201016 yr I'm taking Chris Paul. His injury not withstanding, I believe he has what it takes to lead a team to a title if surrounding by good talent.

If I am starting a team to make a run over the next 5-7 years, DRose is my floor general. I agree. While I like all of them, I see Rose becoming the premiere PG in the NBA over the next 2-3 seasons.
