Derby 136

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any picks or thoughts for the Derby? With Eskendereya out, it appears the field is much more wide open. Everthing points to a very fast opening pace that could setup nicely for a closer.

Looks like 82 and a 40% chance of rain for the First Saturday in May.

But beautiful weather for the Great Steamboat Race... which I guess is as good a reason as any to go down to Waterfront Park, drink some beer and eat a load of fried food at the Chow Wagon.

Haven't really picked my favorites for the race yet. With finals over my head, I haven't spent as much time looking at the field as I would like. I will make this prediction though: Todd Pletcher will remain oh-for-lifetime in the Derby. Bad luck, Todd, I just don't see it happening this year.

Ice Box flying late... Wish he were a little off the rail though.

Anyone be at the track this coming Thursday and Friday with me? I was also there this past Saturday and rode the elevator with Bob Baffert. He did not give me any tips :irked:

I won two box seats to the Oaks, and will definately be there. Will watch the Derby from home. Not sure who I am picking yet.

The two morning-line favorites Wednesday ended up in the Nos. 1 and 20 positions. The No. 1 spot has produced more Derby winners than any other, but none since Ferdinand in 1986. Only two horses have won from the No. 20 position since 1900: Clyde van Dusen in 1929 and Big Brown in 2008.

My entire bankroll will be on Paddy O'Prado.

Somebody find out who the mudders are!

My wife and I will be there Friday and Saturday. Sitting in Section 115.
