Just a couple of examples, there are plenty more out there.

I don't get the point, unless these people are afraid of the movement.

The movement isn't what I'm afraid of.

Locally, my problem with a couple of the leaders in our Tea Party area is what happened with Congressman Tom Periello.

A local leader of the Tea Party from Danville, VA put up an address for Periello and encouraged everyone to voice their displeasure.

Problem was that it was the wrong address, belonging to Tom's brother. Somone cut the gas line on his grill in an enclosed porch.

Now the Tea Party leader can't be held responsible for a crazy but when confronted with the knowledge of what happened and that the address was incorrect his public response was: "When Tom Periello gives me the right address I will take the wrong one down. Until then, it stays up." :irked:

I don't care what party it is, there are fools and crackpots in all of them. They are not true makeup of the party.

So, what about the Tea Party brings so much hatred and smugness from so many?

What then?

Those who join those groups and use legitimate political disagreement as a shroud for their true reasons for discontent. And those who egg them on.

Because the are "inciteful" vs. "insightful".

What "true" reason would that be?

How? Why? Because they oppose Obama's political views? Because they dare to express their free speech rights? Because they know how many tax increases are in the heath care law and they don't like it? Because they're peaceful Americans lawfully objecting and lawfully demonstrating?

Are you going to point to a mere handful of individuals that are idiots and label the whole party the same?

Arent' those the reasons people spew vitriol for the President? Because they oppose his views, because he dares act on the fact that he won the election, because he got the health care bill passed and they don't like it.

For one, I don't care at all about the Tea Party. It is a creation of fox news and Dick Armey's organization. It is not grass roots, although it is picking up people along the way, but its creation was certainly not a ground up, and MOST IMPORTANTLY it is very small and will play a very small role in any general election other than the fact that it may cause very conservative people to win in the primaries, who will then lose in the general election.

The Tea Party has been around for years. They just changed the name from the KKK.

Wow!

To oppose high taxes = KKK.

Wow....

Ridiculous. All I can come up with. Ridiculous.

WOW!! And people think I'm a hater...

No, at least most people I know and those in this forum just have a problem with his political views and policies. What he passed most Americans didn't want, I honestly think the ONLY reason we have the current law is because he just had to pass something to save face.

You're simply giving Dem talking points about the movement, ace.
