April 15, 201016 yr I never took it as such. :thumb: Believe me, I know, I'm an accountant,: Public or private?
April 15, 201016 yr Other critics point to Obama's Wall Street bailout -- which actually had its roots in the Bush administration. Critics say it's socialistic for government to assume control of private industry. Also the Obamacare basic plan came from a Republican idea from 1993. So on 2 of Obama's major issues both had Republican roots. Word if Obama is really on the right?????
April 16, 201016 yr He may not be the classic socialist acording to Obama lovers, but he the closet we have had to a socialist. Which is only a step from the classic socialest. He owns car companies, banks and controls health care. Looks like socialism to me.

He owns car companies, banks and controls health care. Looks like socialism to me. Define "controls" health care. If he "owns" banks he's done a poor job at telling his "employees" how to dish out bonuses.
April 16, 201016 yr How about around 50% of WORKING americans do not pay federal income taxes. Does that work better for you? If you don't see a problem with that that's fine. I do. Where did "you and Glen "Beckity" Beck" come from??? I guess since we disagree I have to get thrown into some kind of category. Right? Is that the typical liberal way? Glen Beck made the exact same argument two nights ago, and john stewart wasted him.
April 16, 201016 yr Glen Beck made the exact same argument two nights ago, and john stewart wasted him. I didn't see it. Who's John Stewart? And I guess now you've wasted me?
April 16, 201016 yr You do realize, you and Glen "Beckity" Beck, that many of those who do not pay income tax are already retired and living on Social Security? Your grandmother perhaps, or my 70 year old father-in-law. The "income" they are recieving is there dividend from from their "investment" during their working lives. Another portion are single mothers working minimum wage jobs who do pay all kinds of taxes, just not INCOME taxes. They do pay other taxes out of their paycheck. So lets get off of this 46% don't pay taxes, they don't pay INCOME taxes, they pay plenty of other. If you buy insurance now, and are relatively healthy, you already HELP OTHERS pay for their care. That is what health insurance is. PERIOD. It spreads the cost out, in case there is some kind of catastrophe you don't lose your house, of course under the system as it was, you could still lose your house b/c the insurer could drop you. 95% of us got a tax cut. People on social security are recieving far more than the dividend they invested towards during their working lives.
April 16, 201016 yr Glen Beck made the exact same argument two nights ago, and john stewart wasted him. I wasn't aware that John Stewarts out of context comedic cut ups carried any weight in an intelligent debate. There are millions of people in this country who are employed and don't pay taxes. A flat tax is the only answer that is an equal share.
April 16, 201016 yr Glen Beck made the exact same argument two nights ago, and john stewart wasted him.You rail on Beck and praise Stewart? Please....
April 16, 201016 yr You rail on Beck and praise Stewart? Please.... Saying John Stewart wasted GLen Beck is praising him?
April 16, 201016 yr Focusing on the statistical middle class — the middle 20 percent of households, as ranked by income — underlines this point. Households in this group made $35,400 to $52,100 in 2006, the last year for which the Congressional Budget Office has released data. That would describe a household with one full-time worker earning about $17 to $25 an hour. Such hourly pay is typical for firefighters, preschool teachers, computer support specialists, farmers, members of the clergy, mail carriers, secretaries and truck drivers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Taking into account both taxes and tax credits, the average household in this group paid a total income tax rate of just 3 percent. A good number of people, in fact, paid no net income taxes. They are among the alleged free riders. But the picture starts to change when you look not just at income taxes but at all taxes. This average household would have paid 0.8 percent of its income in corporate taxes (through the stocks it owned), 0.9 percent in gas and other federal excise taxes, and 9.5 percent in payroll taxes. Add these up, and the family’s total federal tax rate was 14.2 percent. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/14/business/economy/14leonhardt.html
April 16, 201016 yr I'll ask again and I'm not looking for arguments. Don't read into what I'm asking. Is a middle class tax cut a form of wealth distribution? Any tax is wealth redistribution so any true tax cut lessens wealth redistribution for the persons who receive a tax cut. They get to keep more of their own money. However, politicians often refer to a tax credit as a tax cut and a tax credit can be wealth redistribution since with a tax credit it's possible to receive more than you paid into the system.
April 16, 201016 yr Author He may not be the classic socialist acording to Obama lovers, but he the closet we have had to a socialist. Which is only a step from the classic socialest. He owns car companies, banks and controls health care. Looks like socialism to me. He's not a classic socialist according to the Socialists...not just people who voted for him. Obama doesn't own the car companies, own the banks, NOR controls health care. If he did, he'd be a capitalist, anyway, and probably subject to that whole scrutiny of monopolism.
