April 15, 201016 yr Umm, what I receive as take home pay is less than what I was receiving prior to Obama taking office....And no, my health care deductions and the like have not changed a bit. Well since the only tax that has increased on a federal level since Obama took office is a federal tax on cigarettes and as Ace stated previous about 95% of folks have seen thier deductions decrease(none have increased) then I'd have to say you are incorrect about another of your deductions. Which could be state, county or local taxes. :idunno:
April 15, 201016 yr I'll ask again and I'm not looking for arguments. Don't read into what I'm asking. Is a middle class tax cut a form of wealth distribution?
April 15, 201016 yr I'll ask again and I'm not looking for arguments. Don't read into what I'm asking. Is a middle class tax cut a form of wealth distribution? Sure if it increases taxes on the wealthy. If it's not budgeted for or spending cut to go along with it, then it is distributed from future generations.
April 15, 201016 yr That seems really strange. The federal withholding tables have gone down. I'd look into the numbers and try to track the source. Also, withholding reflects only withholding, not taxes paid. You would have to look at your tax return for taxes paid. I got a nice refund this year, but that's more to do with education credits I wasn't able to take previously and new car credits, so to that effect, you're correct. However, I won't have either of those things next year, so unless something drastic changes, I'll be paying more. Your take home may be less but it's not from higher federal taxes because you can't find anything other than hyperbole where taxes have increased for anyone since Obama took office.

So when I look at my pay stubs and every field on them other than FIT is the exact same that it was back when Obama took office, it's not because of FIT?
April 15, 201016 yr So when I look at my pay stubs and every field on them other than FIT is the exact same that it was back when Obama took office, it's not because of FIT? Did you change your W4?
April 15, 201016 yr Did you change your W4? No, unless my company did it for me... And for the record, it amounts to something like $200 for the entire year, so it's not something I'm all that concerned with, just stating that mine have went up.
April 15, 201016 yr Sure if it increases taxes on the wealthy. If it's not budgeted for or spending cut to go along with it, then it is distributed from future generations. Do not all tax cuts result in someone else's taxes going up directly or indirectly? I guess I'm asking for a clear definition of "wealth redistribution."
April 15, 201016 yr No, unless my company did it for me... I'm not trying to be a smart butt here but taxes haven't increased for anyone on a federal level but several things could cause your FIT to increase. A change in W4, Stop contributing to 401k or flex spending account for example could effect it.
April 15, 201016 yr Do not all tax cuts result in someone else's taxes going up directly or indirectly? I guess I'm asking for a clear definition of "wealth redistribution." Well the Bush tax cuts didn't directly but indirectly they will in the future That dirty socialist:sssh:

I never took it as such. :thumb: Believe me, I know, I'm an accountant, and as I said, I don't necessarily care one way or the other because it's such a trivial amount, I'm just saying they've increased. 401k hasn't changed, and I know we switched insurance plans, but nothing changed from that end either....:idunno:
