April 15, 201016 yr "It makes no rational sense. It clearly means that people don't understand what socialism is." Ding ding ding. We have a winner.
April 15, 201016 yr It is interesting, but I disagree saying that Obama doesn't sway to the left and isnt heading toward a socialistic agenda. Him saying and his idea of "spread the weath" is definately swaying towards socialism.
April 15, 201016 yr Do middle class tax cuts fall under "spread the wealth?" Only 95% of us got them, so that doesn't really count.
April 15, 201016 yr Do middle class tax cuts fall under "spread the wealth?" Does a family of four earning $89,000 having to help pay for the health care of a family of four earning $88,000 seem like wealth distribution? Does the fact that 47% of American households pay NO federal income tax (40% of which draw money from the federal government) seem like wealth distribution? And yes, I know that’s not Obama’s deal, but I don’t see him wanting to change it. Do you? I’m sure people making $200,000 are (and rightfully so) feeling like wealth distribution is a trait of Obama’s. Does what he said to Joe the Plumber hint of wealth distribution? I don’t claim to know what socialism is, but if wealth distribution is an attribute of it, Obama seems to be in line…Taxing the “rich” more so more can be given to the “poor”. Poor is a vague word and should be defined when used. I see poor as someone that is unable to work in any way. Just because someone doesn’t have a job or money doesn’t mean they are poor. It could mean they are simply a drag on society because they are lazy. You know, the ones that expect the government to take my money and give it to them. Just because the bill didn’t include a single payer system does not mean Obama didn’t want one. I guess it could be said that Obama hasn’t been any more responsible for socialism turns in the US than anyone before him. This country will repel socialism, but I do believe if Barack Obama had full rein, this country would take a major swing towards a European style of socialism. Just my opinion, not fact.

You do realize, you and Glen "Beckity" Beck, that many of those who do not pay income tax are already retired and living on Social Security? Your grandmother perhaps, or my 70 year old father-in-law. The "income" they are recieving is there dividend from from their "investment" during their working lives. Another portion are single mothers working minimum wage jobs who do pay all kinds of taxes, just not INCOME taxes. They do pay other taxes out of their paycheck. So lets get off of this 46% don't pay taxes, they don't pay INCOME taxes, they pay plenty of other. If you buy insurance now, and are relatively healthy, you already HELP OTHERS pay for their care. That is what health insurance is. PERIOD. It spreads the cost out, in case there is some kind of catastrophe you don't lose your house, of course under the system as it was, you could still lose your house b/c the insurer could drop you. 95% of us got a tax cut.

How about around 50% of WORKING americans do not pay federal income taxes. Does that work better for you? If you don't see a problem with that that's fine. I do. Where did "you and Glen "Beckity" Beck" come from??? I guess since we disagree I have to get thrown into some kind of category. Right? Is that the typical liberal way?
April 15, 201016 yr My taxes have increased since Obama took office, and I don't make anywhere in the world near $200,000....:idunno:
April 15, 201016 yr My taxes have increased since Obama took office, and I don't make anywhere in the world near $200,000....:idunno: Mine too. I, like you, make no where near $200,000! Obama is a far left liberal with designs on changing our capitalistic form of government to what he sees as more "equitable." This is a textbook example of socialism. But, most liberals think along the same lines as Obama and do not see it as such. Not surprising I suppose.:idunno:

I feel some of his policies have more socialistic tendencies than what our country is used to, but he's far from a socialist IMO. I was just stating that while Ace claims 95% of taxpayers have received tax cuts, I make nowhere near the amount given as the cutoff, and yet my taxes have increased. So either Obama's lying, or Ace's numbers are inaccurate.
April 15, 201016 yr My taxes have increased since Obama took office, and I don't make anywhere in the world near $200,000....:idunno: How so?
April 15, 201016 yr How so? Umm, what I receive as take home pay is less than what I was receiving prior to Obama taking office....And no, my health care deductions and the like have not changed a bit.
April 15, 201016 yr Author I don't feel he's a socialist at all. The bolded I don't understand. America has been living with socialistic tendencies for decades: taxpayer funded public education, social security, welfare programs...all policies that could arguably be called socialistic. And Obama had nothing to do with the creation of any one of them. By it's very philosophy, a democratic society embraces certain socialistic philosophies. What makes it so difficult is the constant effort to create a "democratic capatilist society", philosophies that are inherently at odds with each other.
April 15, 201016 yr Umm, what I receive as take home pay is less than what I was receiving prior to Obama taking office....And no, my health care deductions and the like have not changed a bit. That seems really strange. The federal withholding tables have gone down. I'd look into the numbers and try to track the source. Also, withholding reflects only withholding, not taxes paid. You would have to look at your tax return for taxes paid.
