April 9, 201016 yr Can't wait until we make the trip to South Bend to watch the new Irish. Wasn't much of a Cincy fan when he was there but things sure change when a coach is coaching a team you follow. Go Irish!

April 11, 201016 yr I really like how upfront and honest BK is... He was talking about how sloppy Crist's mechanics were. Crist said that put a sense of urgency on him, and that is something Charlie didn't seem to do with his players.

April 11, 201016 yr Like he was at UC?:lol:But if you do remember he sure had everyone at UC thinking he was honest.
April 11, 201016 yr Like he was at UC? I just mean with the players... It's nice because CW never did this at all. Some of these over hyped players need it.

I just mean with the players... It's nice because CW never did this at all. Some of these over hyped players need it. The players liked CW didn't they? I think it had more to do with the players ND recruited being overhyped by the national media than with what Weis did. CW seems like a good man, and he's proven to be a very good offensive coach. He made some mistakes...okay alot of mistakes, but I hope BK doesn't get all the credit if ND turns it around. Weis brought in some talent in the younger classes and I don't think that should be ignored.:thumb: BK is a good coach but I think his true colors have shown. No one should or does blame him for taking the ND job, but that whole situation says alot about him IMO. I think his attitude is either going to make him a beloved but distant savior for the program or an easy scapegoat that gets run off after a few years. It's going to be interesting.
April 13, 201016 yr BK doesn't have to play "politics" anymore...he's landed his "dream job". hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare! Be careful what you wish for...you just may get it!

April 14, 201016 yr BK was great for UC! Played his politics superbly. He had to do that to elevate the program, attain recuits, get the "Jeff" practice field, etc... He is now in shark infested waters though in South Bend. The golden dome has ground up quite a few coaches. I wish him success!

I think the main reason why it might seem like they were overhyped is because he didn't do a good enough job of coaching up all the guys. Yeah some of the guys ended up doing well, but for the most part a lot of his top talent he got, didn't produce. Also If he would have paid more attention to getting to defensive guys, he probably would still have his job. Hopefully Brian Kelly learned from this and pays more attention to getting that defense better, even though he is also an offensive guy too.
