April 8, 201016 yr Explain it to me then. What have they accomplished? Go look at their schedule and tell me what makes them as good as anyone else in the Elite 8. What makes West Virginia any better than Baylor? Baylor sure gave Duke a way better game then West Virginia did.

Over the course of the year they beat a lot better teams. They won the Big East tournament. They beat Georgetown, Pitt, Villanova, and Kentucky who are all abeter than anyone Baylor beat, except maybe Xavier. They played a much tougher schedule and beat better teams.

I'm not saying they are or they aren't, but Baylor can only play and beat who is on their schedule. Talent wise, I thought Baylor had just as much talent if not more with Dunn and Tweety paired with Udoh. And the three teams you mentioned outside of Kentucky sure flopped in the tournament.

But they couldn't guard no one!!! Here is the thing. Baylor had a chance to beat some good teams on their schedule with Kansas St. a couple times, Kansas, etc and didn't get it done.

Duke beat a tremendous Baylor team in a true road game. Your favorite team is UK and most fans whined about their draw, yet they played cupcakes, they finally played a truly solid team, and the game was completely one sided. Duke man handled that team. I don't understand your point. Do you think UK would've walked into the Final Four in that region, then lost to Duke?

I don't understand your point. Do you think UK would've walked into the Final Four in that region, then lost to Duke? I do think UK would have walked through Duke's region. Look, this is not a UK thing. UK got beat and basically inexplicibly played a really bad game, particularly defensively. Now, what I am saying is the selection commitee did a horrible job putting a region together and I don't understand it. Like I said, I am giving Duke all the credit in the world winning a national title. I just don't see why the commitee did what they did.
April 9, 201016 yr OK, I am as big a UK fan as any of you. But the fact is it would have been a little embarrassing for college basketball if UK won the title this year. For a team of one year players, regardless of how talented, to walk in and win the title would have been a smack in the face to all the players and coaches who work for 3 or 4 years to finally get good enough to win a title. Duke has the best team as proven on the court. They played with great intensity at all times on the court, played great fundamentally, had a plan to win each night and executed it. They played one of the top ten schedules in the nation. I don't like Duke but you have to give it up to them. They won it and they earned the win. This tournament proved there are no easy draws so no need to even discuss who Duke played to win the title. No more whining and no more excuses my fellow Wildcat fans! UK undoubtedly had the most talent in the tournament but they were not the best team. Their talent overcame their shortfalls all year. They never had a good half court offense all year. Why? Because running good half court offense takes time and experience. They were great on defense because of their talent. How many times did Wall get beat only to jump up and block the shot because of his talent? Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe ... they all were often lazy on the court. Cousins had a half dozen or more cherry pick dunks this year because he was too lazy to get down court and play defense when something he didn't like happened on the offensive end. Half of Wall's turnovers were just silly dribble into traffic mistakes. Same with Bledsoe. How many times did he try to do too much with penetration? They were inconsistent all year because that is what you get with young players - inconsistency, silly mistakes, lack of focus, lack of intensity. I loved watching this team. Every night there was at least one chin dropping play because of the talent. But they were too young and weren't hardened by the trials of experience and that is why their immense talent just wasn't enough to get a title. I would have loved to see title number 8 but it makes me appreciate college basketball a little more to see that it takes more than just pure talent to win a title. Congrats to Duke and Butler on a great championship game and congrats to Duke on another title.
