Best Underclassmen

Cameron Fogle of Conner looks like a fine young player! He has good wheels, solid outfielder and some pop in his bat! Conner will be giving him some serious playing time, I hope!

Logan McQuerry at GRC, sophomore. Look out for this name in the present and the future.

Beechwood's entire team is underclassmen so where do I start? It really is hard to single any out because there are so many talented young players .The two juniors who are impressing the most so far are probably Josh Bertke and Michael Colosimo. In the sophomores Darrick Brilz is probably the one to keep an eye on.
Darrick Brilz shouldnt be in this conversation. Austin Bergfeld is the go to guy when you need runs and has a lot of heart.

Bergfeld is a clutch hitter. I agree has a lot of heart!

Chase Armstrong at Lexington Catholic. A sophomore and may be the best player in the city already. Also, Ian Tompkins at St Xavier is a tough LHP. There is a lot of underclass talent in the state this year. Conner Hempel is a pretty tough Junior at Ryle as well.

Marcus Carson, freshman at NL. Played varsity last year as an 8th grader, is one of the quickest kids I have seen in many years in SEKY.

Reed Spata(8th grade) SS/P for Scott Varsity, sometimes JV and Jared Best(FR) plays 2nd base for Scott varsity and Joey Heeb(Soph) plays 2nd,SS,3rd.

Tanner Norton, C at Brossart.

Asher, Brown and Plageman at Lloyd are doing real well. Asher and Brown have great years on the mound and Plageman doing good behind the plate.

A kid to watch is Cody Hurley. A sophomore this year. He had to sit out because of transferring from Williamstown to Grant County. At Williamstown he played varsity as a 7th grader and has started varsity 8th and 9th grade. He pitches and plays 3rd, 1st and catches. Also has played every other position at one time or another. As a Freshman batting avg. of .415, on base % of .623, slugging % of .472. On the mound he had 45 K's in 43 innings.

I like Tiberi as OP said, and I think Callery will be a good talent. He's been with the Flames organization for years.

Thanks big brother!

I'd look out for CovCath in the next two years. The talent there is immense.

Travis Jones-Jr.Newport. Hitting well over 400 and playing great at SS. This kid is a real good ball player that no one hear's about because Newport is down this year and the team does not call in his stats. For anyone that has played against or watched him play, what is your opinion on this young man?

He is a real nice ball player..........You know there are too many coaches that do not submit their stats (Silver Grove is another one that does not).............And this is a shame because both Newport and Silver Grove (while they have bad teams) each have a couple young players that will be around for awhile that statistically are putting up good numbers..............................
