I Guess Pelosi Was Right

Nope. And trust me, I have tried, with great frustration.

I'm interested, so I'll ask again.

Which restaurants do not make their health information accessible to its customers?

How can you be"responsible" when the necessary information is withheld from you?

When I started my weight loss program 2 years ago I found the information. Nothing is or was being withheld, it is there if you are willing to do a bit of work to find it, like Googling Big Mac. It really isn't hard to fing if you want to find it.

In the end it won't cost the restaurants anything. Patrons will get a few less fries or the cost of something will go up. In other words, we will pay for the calorie boards.

Exactly. The restaurants will pass the cost on to the consumer.

The cost may be marginal. The benefit may help some. I think it's the principle of it all that has some people upset. For me, I could take it or leave it. It will add some convenience and may influence my choice from time to time.

Here is another reason this is dumb. The way I understand it they just have to include the calorie count. With the macronutrients break down (protein, carbs, fat) the calorie count is pretty worthless. You can have an item that is not real high in calories but if the bulk of those calories are fat then what does it matter. If they are going to do this they need to at least do it right. And maybe they are and I am just missed that part.

most don't.

I have a hard time believe you have done the necessary research to make this statement.

If you need the government to tell you if a Big Mac, ect. is good for you or not you really need to go back to school or need more serious help...

This isn't directed at you, ColonelCrazy.

So, this is another example of where those making under $250,000 a year will help pay for this. But how can that be? Obama promised us otherwise.

After suggesting Googling Big Mac I did just that and came across this site. I don't know if it includes every fast food place but it does look like a fairly substantial listing.

Define being withheld again.

I also googled a few fast food restaurants and each one had easily accessible nutrition information.

I would say all of the national fast food chains have the info on their website. I have on occasion looked at sit down type restaurants that didn't have the info on their site but a lot of those places are so franchise driven the menu's will be somewhat unique from location to location.

I have not been able to find any nutritional information for Buffalo Wild Wings on their website.

So I typed "Buffalo Wild Wings Nutrition" into Google and multiple sites have their information:

Since these are franchises will it apply to them?

Sure, for McDonalds. For other places...not so simple.

For the third time:

What are some of these places that you refer to?

I haven't read all of the post so this may have been addressed. How is this different than the nutritional facts required on food items purchased at a supermarket?
