March 29, 201016 yr How many times have you decided where you would be eating, that night, before you started your day, or before you bagan a long car trip? How often do you have access to the internet before you leave the house? How often are you with someone who has internet access from their phone? More importantly, how often do you even CARE about the nutrition in the food you're eating? If you do care, the majority of restaurants (particularly fast food chains) have some type of informational brochure available to review before you order.
March 29, 201016 yr I would think it would be more expensive to print up thousands of pamphlets for the customers to throw away after each meal than it would be to put the number 1500 (i am making that up btw) out beside the BigMac. The cheapest and easiest way to do it is to print it on an item that you already use. Like a bag, wrapper, or place matt because you're already incurring the cost. You just have to change what you print. The next cheapest would be somesort of poster display that would be very inexpensive and get the job done. The most expensive is to put it on the Menu Board. For a McDonald's owner to replace all of his/her menu boards would cost somewhere in the $5000 range. I don't have an issue with this. But I don't really like it.

Also, like I said, if you really cared about what you eat then you don't go to fast food. If you are in a situation where you have to eat a salad. Everything else is crap.
March 29, 201016 yr Yet you cannot come up with a single restaurant? It sounds like you're the one who set the trap and quite a few on here did not fall into it. I haven't tried and don't intend to. If you want answers to your questions I suggest you do some research on your own. Apparently, it's really easy to do.
March 29, 201016 yr How far off you think that'll be now that they have their foot in the door of health care? Something he doesn't seem to like to deliver on. For the love of God, RTS. You're taking a small thing and stretching to make it tyranny. RM, There are several cities in the US that are in the process of trying to pass laws banning trans fats at restaurants. This is a foot in the door, nanny state, approach.

I could agree with you if a consumer had the ability to read that wrapper and compare it to other wrappers IN ADVANCE of making their purchase. The simple fact of the matter is that due to the nature of buying prepared food that you expect within a reasonable delivery time, the information must be posted within the menu.
March 29, 201016 yr There's nothing to fall for. You said there were lots and ace said most. Yet neither will name even one much less lots and most. That's not the point. The point is that, at the time of purchase, this information should be readily available to the consumer. They shouldn't have to go find an Internet café somewhere to look up the important information. Many trips to restaurants and stops at fast food eateries are impromptu situations. The person trying to respect their health may be there because that's where the group goes, they may need to dine somewhere for a meeting or other reason. So this kind of information is very important to health conscious people in those situations. Obviously, not everyone there will care; but that's irrelevant.

March 29, 201016 yr Author The numbers are available, and have been available for a long time. The information is not "withheld" from you just because it's not immediately in front of you. We have asked you to name any place that does not provide their nutritional information and you've been unable to do so. How hard have you really tried? Once again, we have asked you to back up your statement with any restaurant which does not provide an opportunity for its consumers beforehand. You've stated that there are a lot of restaurants out there who don't provide their nutritional information to the consumers. Yet you cannot come up with a single restaurant? It sounds like you're the one who set the trap and quite a few on here did not fall into it. :thumb:

I don't want to read the contents of my double cheeseburger on a greasy wrapper right before I eat it.
