Unlimited grade exceptions begin in the U15, not U14. U14 is still limited to a maximum of 3.

My mistake, you're right 14U is considered 8th Grade.

The beat a LOADED Mean Streets team in the semis that was the talk of the event all weekend. Their big man Anthony Davis went from unknown to 5 star status in 2 days. Very nice W for Indy Elite...

Final score 52-48. Just talked to Vinny. He is thrilled huge win for them to win this tourney, 70 teams in the 17U. 8 games in 3 days.

Any more info on this Tourney Gametime, and who looked good? Did you go?

I was there from Friday night all the way up to the tip of the 17U semis and had to hit the road to get home to the fam. My brain has requested a few hours of rest, so I'll get into details a little later this evening...

Thanks, look forward to your details.

I will say I saw Indy Elite I think 4 full games this weekend, and they were exactly what I expected when I saw this team was being put together for the spring. One game it was Vinny and Zeller working the two man high/low game, another it was Yogi Ferrell and Jeremiah Davis getting to the rim or it was Ethrington and Spencer Taylor hitting big shots to expand a growing 4th Q lead. Just a solid all around squad with multiple guys that can hurt you in a variety of ways. Great weekend for those kids...

This is what makes this team so dangerous, as you stated it can be a combo of different players each game. This AAU team is loaded. Agree with you gametime, great win and weekend for these kids.:thumb:

Any updates on the tournament at the KBA? The NKY BUlldogs played at Midwest Hoops this weekend and finished 5 -0 to win the Derby Classic. Extremely short handed, they had wins over B Stars, XBA, Showtime, & KY Cats.

The 17u finals at the KBA ended with D-ONE Greyhounds walking off the court with about 2 mins left in the 1st half. Not sure what led to this happening but Clay Co. was leading 25-18........and for the record it says Clay on the jersey but there are two from Wayne Co one from Leslie Co and one from Buckhorn on this Clay team. Clay Co was awarded the championship trophy.

Who coaches and playes for the D-ONE Greyhounds? I know Setty of Mason Co was playing for them in this tourney.

I saw the Clay Co team play against Team Ky. They played well together.

After a month on the road one thing is for sure. Indiana is LOADED with talent for years and show no sign of slowing down. Once you start to think you have a good feel for what that state has on the way up, you find 4 or 5 more kids that rate at worst mid major plus. An early count says they should have right around 10 of the top 100 in 2012 with Devauntes Smith-Riverra, Garry Johnson, Yogi Ferrell, Jeremy Hollowell, Ron Patterson, Dejuan Marerro, Ronnie Johnson and at least 2 more of a list from 5 or so other kids that are still developing. Spiece and Indy Elite raised the bar and Eric Gordon, D3, SYF and others are stepping up to the challenge.

As someone that has been working my way into this for a long time now, you always hear of these kids that explode on the scene but it's rare with all of the events that you actually get to see it in person. Anthony Davis went from someone a few of us knew was under the radar and about to blow up to watching the kid show up and say it's 5 star or bust with their play. The 6'9" PF was 6'4" a year ago and outside of a groundswell of hype growing at the 2 events he played in leading up to arriving in Ft Wayne was a complete unknown. By this morning he was a must see for everyone in the gym for an all around game you just don't see from someone his size and length very often. He also has a 3.8 GPA and handled every interview thrown at him like a pro even though this was his first time in the spotlight.

Got my first look at a few 2013 Ohio kids from Toledo I've been hearing about since 2008 in Nigel Hayes and Mark Loving. I do all I can not to watch anything under 15U because it's such a crap shoot, and I managed to make the wait on these two and wasn't disappointed. While their games are quite a bit different (Loving is a combo forward with perimeter game and Hayes is a combo forward freak athlete) both are already in the 6'6" plus range and are far from raw already. The 15U All Ohio Red squad is going to get a lot more attention from me to track how these two kids progress.

I've got more, but I have got to get some sleep...
