The case I read concerned the 05 budget reduction act but it was decided in 2007. The case did involve an error by the Senate clerk and it was noted by the court. But the basis for the court's holding wasn't that a "minor" error was ok. Instead it ruled that an 1890 Supreme Court case controlled. That case prohibited challenges to legislation of the type involved in that case and, if the self-executing rule is used, on HCR.

The House Ways and Means Committee estimated that Medicare would cost only about $ 12 billion by 1990 (a figure that included an allowance for inflation). This was a supposedly "conservative" estimate. Actual Medicare spending in 1990 was $110 billion—off by nearly a factor of 10.

March 21, 201016 yr I think if it passes I will drop my healthcare coverage. Then wait until something happens, God forbid, then re-enroll because they can no longer deny me or someone in my family because of any preexisting condition! I will save about $500 a month in premiums.

There is no way this country can pay for this health insurance and the war. I am curious how this will not raise our taxes especially when Bush's tax cuts end in a couple of years. I mean how in the world is this government going to pay for more than 32 million people and their healthcare? I just do not get it. I am not sure doctors can do it but I hope doctors do not take this type of insurance. I know this is terrible to say with me being in the healthcare profession but it is just how I feel. It is hard enough to get into the doctors now I cannot imagine how difficult it is going to be with 32 million more people in the system. I could go on and on and on.

At least everyone will have great health coverage though. Yeah right. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. The first thing to do with our new insurance will be to get our rectums stretched, cause that's where the money is going to come from.
