The East Region has six conference champions seeded #12 or below

 

After Duke, the next highest conference champion is seeded #13 (Siena).

Again, if we lose in the second round or to Villanova or Baylor, then how easy is it? I'll happily admit when I am biased and if Duke easily makes it to the Final Four I will come back and say you guys were right, I just don't expect any easy routes to the Final Four. Every year everyone says we have an easy bracket but we haven't been to the Final Four since 2004. Nothing is easy in March.

 

As I said, if you can't admit that on paper, Duke got the easiest draw, you're the one that's being biased, and your credibility will take a hit. Now that's not to say that it will play out as an easy draw by any stretch of the imagination, but ON PAPER it sure seems to be the easiest of the 4.

As I said, if we get to the Final Four easily, I will say you guys were right. My whole point is that nothing is easy in March and that after UK, no 1 seed has a tougher possible 2nd round game, IMO.

 

For me, nothing on paper matters because as I said before every year people(haters) say Duke has an easy route but we haven't made it past the Sweet 16 since 2004.

 

On paper, yeah, the South looks easier than the other brackets. That doesn't mean it will be. Especially for a Duke team that I have said all year long is a Sweet 16/Elite 8 team at best.

It just means Duke sucks more than we thought. You can sit there and act like they didn't get the keys handed to them, but Duke fans are the ONLY people that think otherwise. It's not just UK fans, or people who dislike Duke........It's everyone.

That's all most posters are saying in this thread. The only real problem I have with the bracket is Nova as the #2 seed. I think they and G'town should have been switched.

Thats because Duke has annually been overrated since Luol Deng's only year at Duke.

I do think that Duke got the easiest draw of the 4 #1 seeds. However, they still have to get by UL who IF they bring their A game could beat Duke. They would also have to get by Villanova, and that will be a real challenge in which I would actually give Nova a slight edge due to the strength of the Big East this season.

 

Either way you have to beat the teams in your bracket to advance, and I don't think anyone is guaranteed a spot in the final 4 this year.

Gee thanks, NCAA. You gave us a 2 seed that made the Final Four last year, returned their best players and oh yeah, they embarassed us while blazing their way to the Final Four. Thanks, NCAA. Appreciate it.

I agree. Duke has only beaten one team seeded higher than #7 in the last seven tournaments, that being #5 seeded Illinois.

With unbalanced schedules in the BEast and the nation's #1 schedule, those 10 losses can be overlooked IMO.

I agree with that. If you're going to award someone with a #1 overall seed then give them the easiest road period. They've earned it.

Kansas' bracket is bottom heavy. They'll play one serious team on the way to the Final Four and that will be in the Elite Eight. And if you make it to the Elite Eight, you should expect a good team there.
