My gut feeling is Bouldin is a malcontent and he has trouble staying healthy. With all that said I would love to see the Bengals sign him for only a 3rd round pick.

He definitely has durability issues, but if anyone remembers correctly, not this year but last, he was a FREAK for the first 5 or 6 weeks of the season before, I believe, breaking his jaw. In 2008 he played something like 12 games, over 1000 yards and 11 TDs. Those numbers are crazy.

I know this is based on the here and now, but I don't recall him being injury prone before his face got caved in.

Truthfully, I think he felt the Cardinals did him wrong. I don't recall anyone breathing a word that he did anything to hurt the team, but he was very vocal about a desire for a new contract and depending on what side of the fence you are on, that can cast him in a bad light.

Seems as if the Cards are asking a 3rd round draft pick and that is all. Why wouldn't the Bengals want in on this :idunno:

Insider ESPN link. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors

If you're an insider go to the "Cards will take what they can get?" section about 1/4 of the way down the page.

Excerpt:

We've been following the latest round of trade rumors related to Anquan Boldin, and previously the going rate was a second-rounder in return. But Wednesday on the NFL Network, Michael Lombardi said that the asking price for Boldin had decreased from a second-rounder to just a third-rounder, which is allegedly what many teams are willing to give up.

Boldin has been hit by the injury big the last couple years so I'm not sure that I would like to spend big money on a player that will wind up getting hurt and thus getting zero production out of him. I'd rather have T.O. at this point.

I'd much rather have Boldin. 3rd rounder is a steal IMO.

My feelings too. No way in H I would want TO over him! This is one of those moves that makes to much sense for Cincy to make. He would be bigtime in their posession style offense they are trying to move too.

Its a steal, I agree, but we would be paying him quite a bit of money if we made the trade and thus it makes me a bit worried since his durability has been in doubt these past couple seasons. I'm not against the Bengals acquiring Boldin, as I'd be very happy if they did! All I'm trying to say is if the opportunity is there to grab Terrell Owens, I'd do it because he has been consistent and his durability isn't in question. Bascially I want results with the money that is going to be paid to one of these guys and I'd just feel a bit more comfortable about it if it were Owens instead of Boldin.

If the Bengals could get him for a third round pick, then they should definitely try. Don't the Bengals have two third round picks this year? If so it just makes to much sense. Someone might offer a better third round pick, but the Bengals should at least try if this is true.

I still would rather give up a 1st round pick for Marshall though. Marshall not only helps for this year, but for long term. However getting Boldin would still be awesome, especially for just a third rounder!
