February 18, 201016 yr Not the group but , rather, what is your favorite live recorded album? I was listening to Commodores Live from '77 today. Great album if you're into 70s R&B.
February 18, 201016 yr Johnny Cash, Folsom Prison Allman Brothers, Fillmore East The Who, Live at Leeds Obviously, I'm an old fart.
February 18, 201016 yr Johnny Cash, Folsom Prison Allman Brothers, Fillmore East The Who, Live at Leeds Obviously, I'm an old fart. I'm not (but I'm getting there), but those three would be in my top 10. A few of my other faves (and I'm sure I'm forgetting some): The Commodores Live (nice call, Clyde) "MTV Unplugged In New York" by Nirvana "Live: P-Funk Earth Tour" "Live In New Jersey" by Pete Yorn "Live From Austin TX" by Steve Earle "Spyboy" by Emmylou Harris "Are You Through Yet?" by The V-Roys "In Person At The Whiskey A Go-Go" by Otis Redding "Rattle And Hum" by U2 "The Last Waltz" by The Band "It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Roadie Sings" by The Replacements "Live Rust" by Neil Young "Live 75-85" by Bruce Springsteen "Okonokos" by My Morning Jacket "Kicking Television: Live in Chicago" by Wilco "Live At The Apollo" by James Brown "Stop Making Sense" by Talking Heads "Bootleg Series No. 4: The Royal Albert Hall Concert" by Bob Dylan Of course, this is No. 1:
February 18, 201016 yr I have to agree on the KISS: Alive (the first live album ever) and Nirvana: Unplugged In NY Some favorites of mine.... Pantera - Live:Official Proof 101 Nirvana - Live at Reading Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same Soundtrack (live set from the movie) The Doors - Live From the Hollywood Bowl
February 18, 201016 yr Oh Yeah, add Metallica S&M to my list. It was the live album they done with the San Francisco orchestra. Given I don't like much post 80's Metallica, they played almost all their old classics, and the orchestra really fueled the drama and filled out the sound. Great album IMO.
February 18, 201016 yr Others that just came to me. Sublime - Bradley Nowell and Friends, acoustic set by Bradley Nowell, very nice album. Ted Nuggent - Double Live Lynyrd Skynyrd - One more From the Road, it was around the time they debuted the three lead guitar attack Blink 182 - Mark, Tom and Travis show, I know a lot of you guys may not be Blink 182 fans, but very good live album and the on stage commentary is very funny.
February 18, 201016 yr Neil Young-Live Rust Cheap Trick-Budokon Tom Petty-everything recorded live and offered for sale.
February 18, 201016 yr Slipknot 9.0 Live. They are the best show I have ever been too. Guys that rocked out with the best of them through the years that we talked to at the show agreed that they put on a pretty nasty show.
February 18, 201016 yr Smothers Brothers - Live at the Purple Onion Smothers Brothers - Think Ethnic Tom Lehrer - An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer Tom Lehrer - That Was The Year That Was Steve Martin - Let's Get Small Barry Manilow - Live Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Pictures At An Exhibition
