January 18, 201016 yr They are in the Final 4 for the NFL. Are they one of the four best teams, IYO. Do you think they are good or lucky?
January 18, 201016 yr I think luck has some to do with it, but they're a decent team. They've got a tremendous defense, especially in the latter half of the year, which is the only reason they're even still alive. Well, that and the Colts.
January 18, 201016 yr They are this year's Cardinals. Good team that got hot at the right time. :thumb:
January 18, 201016 yr Good and lucky. They have a great defense, which allows them to stay within striking distance in most games. The margin between the top teams and the rest is often not that wide in the NFL nowadays. Add Kaeding missing FG's he normally makes, and they're in the AFC Championship game. I expect the result to be similar to Baltimore last year. They'll probably be game, but in the end, just not good enough. Indy may not run them off the field, but I don't expect this game to go down to the last minute.
January 18, 201016 yr Not as good as the 2005 Steelers, but I see a lot of the same qualities in both teams...
January 18, 201016 yr I said on here a few weeks ago that being able to run and playing great defense still is what wins playoff games. The Jets aren't as bad as people think IMO. No one wants to play a team like them either I don't think.
January 18, 201016 yr When you have a defense like they do, you always have a chance. With their new stadium being erected, I'm sure this can only help them in the FA game.

Generally, the teams that can do both are the last ones standing.

No one wants to play a team like them either I don't think. Tell that to the Colts, Vikings, and the Saints... Basically if you run and play great defense, it does give you a chance. However also leaves you very little room for error. You basically can't have any room for mistakes, because playing that style also will never let you get a comfortable lead either. So far the Jets have been able to play basically mistake free football. I think only one turnover, and they have taken advantage of opportunities when given, and have not missed field goals when given the opportunity. So yes that style can win, but you basically have no room for error either with that style.
January 18, 201016 yr All I know is that it makes two years in a row a rookie QB has guided his team to the conference championship. Aside from Big Ben back in the day, leading the Steelers as a rook, I cannot remember rookie QB's being able to step in and have this kind of success.

January 18, 201016 yr Dan Marino See that proves it, its been a while since its happened, and it doesn't happen much. But it has happened the last two seasons.
January 18, 201016 yr I don't think they are this year's Cardinals. I think they are last year's Ravens and they have a coach from that Raven's team who obviously is following that same blueprint. I can't call beating a Colts team that played Curtis Painter at qb the entire second half a legitimate win, let alone a win that keeps them hot. If they are down by 3 and need to get 60 yards to get in field goal range with 2 minutes left, I don't think they can do it. However, if they have a 10 point lead with 8 minutes left, I don't think they lose. They are boring to watch and I hope they don't make the Super Bowl. Revis can't cover all 4 Indy receivers so I expect the Colts to win, but nowadays, you just never know.
January 18, 201016 yr Teams have to be good and have a little luck with them to get this far in the playoffs. The Jets also have a fantastic defense, which we always hear wins championships. They have a coach that believes in his team and has them playing with confidence. I like the Colts in this game but, wouldn't be surprised if the Jets pull off an upset.
