Jay Leno back to 11:30?

Featured Replies

Conan was obviously angry and you could tell because of the passion in his jokes about NBC. His cracks on NBC were the best stuff he had all night.

I hope Conan sticks it to NBC and makes the move to another network.

The 5 PM news stated that Conan said he wasn't willingly leaving the 11:30 time to move to another time. Sounds like he's saying no-can-do to NBC.

I also read where the ratings for Conan on the Tonight Show dropped and Letterman has taken a big lead in the ratings. They also said that NBC may be wanting Conan to leave now, and save them close to 30 million a year and they stick with Leno back at 11:30 on the Tonight Show, thinking Leno would build back up the ratings.

Leno got his head handed to him for three years by Letterman before he got the Hugh Grant miracle that helped him catch on fire. And he didn't have Johnny Carson sabotaging him an hour and a half earlier.

How about some better news: Jay Leno goes away altogether, because he sucks.

Amen!:thumb:

I was always more of a Letterman fan. And, I'll admit I haven't watched any of these shows in a long time. But I still think Jay Leno needs to go away. Now.

I liked the "I'm with CoCo" avatar so much I thought I'd use it for a bit.

I don't understand the bolded part. :idunno:

Just a reference to the previous host being on earlier. A lot feel that the troubles have been the lead-in sabotage. Leno's show and ratings have been awful. That in turn affects the local news viewership, which has been down. That's the entire reason Leno got cancelled at 10:00, because the affiliates were complaining. Lower local news viewership means a lower lead-in to Conan. When Leno started, NBC was on the top, and he had no such problem to contend with. It's not like Johnny Carson got another show at 10:00 that tanked to start a domino effect.

When is Leno's contract up with NBC? What are his intentions? How long would he want to do the Tonight Show? I know a few older people who prefer Leno over Conan, some see Conan as just being like a geeky litte kid and sort of Eddie Haskel like. What will the Leno viewers do? Who will they follow? Will he regain a lot of them back if he moves back into the Tonight Show chair? If so, I see NBC hoping that if Conan does not want to go back to the 12:30 AM slot, that NBC would be willing to let him leave.

Conan is not getting screwed, I see he is making about $28 million a year! If he feels NBC did him over, then he can go to Fox and make the $28 million, or even more. NBC will be looking to see how many Tonight Show viewers will follow Conan. Leno, Letterman and Conan in the same time slot?

It is also some outlandish number that Conan will receive if NBC breaches the contract.

Money isn't everything. Conan signed on to do "The Tonight Show". He has said himself that people shouldn't feel sorry for him, and I do not. But the fact of the matter is NBC is attempting to "screw him over" by doing this. They are not giving him a fair chance on "The Tonight Show". And I can see why he wouldn't want to move time slots. "The Tonight Show" should be on at its normal time, not 12:05. Being on at 12:05 makes it "The Tomorrow Show".

Just because he is getting paid doesn't mean they should be able to breach his contract.

Jay is better at 10:30.

When was Jay on at 10:30?

^ Probably means 11:30 eastern, 10:30 central.

You two clowns are messing me up.

Because he's not. He is, however, extremely annoying, and I give him full credit for that.

Well despite what you think...he had the largest number of viewers than any other late night host. You may not think he is funny, however the majority of the rest of the population thought otherwise.:thumb:
