I agree 100% with getting them home. Although I did spend a lot of time with the family, I think they were getting a little tired of me giving them updates as if I were there. I'm going to make a prediction that CovCath enjoys being over the .500 mark the rest of the year.

I am a little surprised by the margin of victory for the Colonels. Thelen seems to really be in a groove right now. Highlands is right around the corner next week and I am looking forward to the visit over there.

Agree with this assessment! The guard is Machinot (sp?) and a fun kid to watch, who just seems to make things happen (He was a favorite of Mustang on the broadcasts as well). Thought Max Pauley played well at the point tonight for the Colonels as well.

Sounds like you can add Jake Thelen as a 9th Region POY Candidate. It's early, but nobody seems to have a clue how to stop him.

 

I personally thought he deserved to be the MVP of this tourney, despite being on the third place team?? He scored something like 28, 38 and 24 in his 3 games, along with a ton of assists, rebounds and blocks!!

You are correct there Clyde. He finished 4th in State 2A long jump last year as a soph with a jump of like 21 and a half feet. I had heard that it was his success in track that caused him to quit basketball for a month or so before this season.

While I am more familiar with a "waiter" handing a bag food out of the window, I can picture a one handed over the head tray full of entrees carry. I know about "Dead Man shots" having missed many of them back when I played. I too would like to say thanks to the Brossart crew for broadcasting the games for us that could not get down to the tournament. While I did miss Mark and the J-man, and the interviews with Coach L, players etc a little bit, I would have missed much more if you would not have covered the games for us. I also thought that the enthusiasm/support for the Colonels was great! So, thanks again!

 

I do have one question for the Cov Cath followers - seems to me that we have had a number of technical fouls this year. I have not been to any game where one was called, but in the stats it seems like we have had more than I can recall any prior year. Is it just me, or have we? Anyone surprised by this? Should we be concerned?

The only one I recall is from last night. What others am I forgetting?

I would have to go back and check stats, but I seem to remember a couple more. Like I said I could be wrong. I was just thinking after last night's maybe there was more of an issue. TOG would know better than me. Maybe he can tell me I am wrong for sure.
