8/11 from the line is a good sign.

BTW, Frank and Dave are a very nice listen on the Mustangs broadcast.

Schabel reminds me of Tim Brando.

Good day/night for the Colonels, with the Frosh winning two and the Varsity winning tonight against Bishop Brossart!

BTW a huge thanks to the Bishop Brossart Internet Radio crew for doing this game tonight! Thank you Dave and Frank and no I will not put you to the fire for saying Trey Evans was a transfer from Newport! :D

Up next for the CovCath Colonels is a trip out to Longbranch Road to play the Cooper HS Jaguars on Saturday Jan 2, 2010

This will be a triple header starting at 4:30pm with the Freshmen squaring off first, followed by the JV, then Varsity games.

Congrats Coach L for win #200. I am a little jealous I was not there, but if I were going to hand pick a crew to announce this milestone, it would be Dave Schabell and Frank Niemeyer. They were great to listen to and treated our boys like their own, especially last night when they announced the Ashland game for us. We owe you guys.

Congrats to Coach L and the Colonels on a nice win

Our pleasure! Congrats to Coach L on his 200th.

Colonels the best team on this night. Tooooo Much Thelan!

Didn't allow Mustangs to generate any consistent offense. Held Jacob Rieger to no field goals in the first half.

Good tournament, good experience! Mustangs will have to rebound quickly as Scott comes to call on Saturday night at home in a key 37th District seeding game.

Thelen continues to put up big point totals.

I want to share in the appreciation to Dave Schabell and Frank Niemeyer for broadcasting the games. While nothing can take the place of Mark and the J-Man, listening to the Brossart crew was very enjoyable. Like having Will Rogers or Andy Griffith call the game. Some examples of their many gems:

"It's Jake Thelen 8 the Brossart Mustangs nothing"

"Brossart with the loose leather"

"Robinson puts ink in the book"

"Max Pauly with what we call a head waiter shot"

"Saunders can't do anything but wave at it, just too much Thelan"

"not enough air under the shot"

"stop pop fails to drop"

"looks like a swish in the scorebook"

These guys are greattttt. :thumb: :thumb:

And by the way, what is a head waiter shot???

Edited by Flotsam

Northern Kentucky is lucky to have these broadcast guys devote so much of themselves to the game. I for one thank all of them.

And by the way congrats, to Cov Cath for the win on a special night. Now get home where I can watch you play.

Sounds like you can add Jake Thelen as a 9th Region POY Candidate. It's early, but nobody seems to have a clue how to stop him.
