That's a weak decade. Only have 2 maybe 3 of those artists on any of my playlists.

This is beyond pathetic. Thank God for the Indy music scene.

1. The College Dropout, Kanye West (2004) - I never got all of the hype surrounding Kanye. And in no world should this be #1.

2. The Blueprint, Jay-Z (2001) - Not bad and I can see a case for it. But if I'm going to rank a Jay-Z album from this decade it's going to be Unplugged. Most of the good songs from Blueprint are on it and you get The Roots as well.

3. Kid A, Radiohead (2000) - I'm not a Radiohead fan.

4. Stankonia, OutKast (2000) - This is probably the only one I would also have in my top 10. Excellent album. It got a heavy rotation in my cd player during my last two years of H.S. and first year of college.

5. Love And Theft, Bob Dylan (2001) - I like Dylan. But I don't think I've ever listened to this album. Therefore I can't really comment on it's ranking.

6. Home, The Dixie Chicks (2002) - I go back and forth on the Dixie Chicks but honestly this wasn't an awful album. If I'm remembering correctly it was more stripped down than the others which I enjoyed. That being said, in this year alone there are more deserving female country albums.

7. Funeral, The Arcade Fire (2004) - I have no idea who they are at all. So either I'm missing out on some really good music or this wasn't very good.

8. I Am… Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé (2008) - Umm, no.

9. FutureSex/LoveSounds, Justin Timberlake, (2006) - I'll admit that I sometimes listen to Justin Timberlake and actually like some of it (call it a guilty pleasure). But to include it in a top 10 or even top 50 is a too much. But it was at least an interesting album for the mainstream.

10. You Are Free, Cat Power (2003) - I've only recently listened to any Cat Power and mainly just Jukebox due to one cover I really like. But I have found that I like some of her songs, so I'd give it a chance before I disregarded it.

Aside from Radiohead and Outkast, none of these albums have any appeal to me at all. I'm not a music snob generally, but is this really the top 10 albums of the decade in the eyes of anyone but this author?

I prepared a list of my top 5 albums of the decade with a little write-up on all of them for my web site that I recently took down. I get that my musical tastes are generally different than those of others, but if I remember I will look for it tonight and post it here. Some may enjoy it, most probably will not.

Geez...:puke:

I'm sure Jim Schue will state my feelings in a more entertaining way, so I'll wait for him to chime in and go with what he says.

Nope, I can't really top your first line …

There are a couple of albums I like on this list, but I don't think that any would make my top 10 of the decade list.

Makes me glad that my formative years were the 1960s...

I will say that they missed the mark on at least three big albums that should be on there, all by the same group:

"Southern Rock Opera"

"Decoration Day"

"Brighter Than Creation's Dark"

All three, of course, are by Drive-By Truckers.

Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and Kings Of Leon's "Aha Shake Heartbreak" also belong. So there's five I've come up with, just off the top of my head.

Pretty decent list.

Quick trivia question for ya...

What is the best selling album of all time? No cheating now, I learned it in class today.

Personally College Dropout and The Blueprint are 2 of my favorite CD's I have ever listened to. All four of Kanye West's CD's have been incredible IMO. He was also just named one of Rolling Stone's Artist of the Decade. Anyone who hates him just needs to listen more closely to the quality music he produces and his lyrics to understand where his success and following comes from.
