I honestly think it could be a mistake in firing Weis.

Does anybody want the ND job? Boy, the times have changed.

Tony Dungy seems to be picking up more steam.

 

He would have the local support, being at Indy so long. He would be a good role-model for students because he is so caring and doesn't use verbal lashes. And he is a winner.

 

Although he has all his success and he's honestly a very nice man, some NFL coaches and NCAA coaches are meant to stay where they are: NFL or NCAA. Even with all the acolades of Dungy, I think it's a risky choice.

The times changed about 10 - 15 - 20 years ago. The rest of the nation is just beginning to realize it.

I believe Bobby Stoops is being honest, but he is guilty until proven innocent due to some of his fellow head coaches who can look people in the eye and lie like a dog!

It may very well be true, however, given some of the things said by coaches before taking new jobs over the last couple of years, I will not believe anything anybody says until ND introduces their next coach at a press conference.

That's why I give it almost no chance. Not that I think you'd have to be Catholic to coach at ND, I just don't know if you could be so deeply involved in another religion and make it work there. Dungy has a very strong faith and is very open about his religion.
