USC 28 UCLA 7

Featured Replies

"He called timeout, nothing wrong with that, just compete," Carroll said of Neuheisel. "Then the play came up on the headset and I thought, great freaking call."

Hilarious.

Definitely hilarious. I love it.

I think this game is going to be big for both teams going forward. I think that it could help push USC back to greatness in their bowl game and on to next year. It will either be a rallying cry for UCLA or the beginning of the end of the Neuheisel era (not this year though) IMO. Should be interesting going forward

Interesting that Pete Carroll was boo-hooing two weeks ago when Stanford went for two with a big lead, yet this is ok with him. Good ole double standard

I see nothing wrong with it, since UCLA obviously thought they still had a chance by calling a timeout. So if they thought they had a chance still, then USC just made sure that they had no chance.

I really don't see how somehow can not like Pete Carroll as a coach. I know as a player I would love to play for him, and I know one day when I become a parent he is the kind of guy that I would want coaching my kid. He is a great coach, with great enthusiam and really seems to care about his players. He just seems to get it, and realizes also that football is just a game. He makes sure his players has fun with it, but also goes out of his way to help others. I don't know if others seen that story on ESPN about what they did this year with the kid who had cancer, but it was just a great thing what they did. Even after a tough loss to Stanford and everyone being down, he knew it was important for that kid for the kid to be there around them at practice.

I'd go with the end for UCLA. Neuhiesel is the king of leaving programs in ruins.

 Entirely different situation, you realize that, right?

Not the same at all.

Carroll took a knee and was attempting to show some mercy.

So while leading 21-7 with under a minute to go, USC decides to sit on the ball and just go with the kneel. Apparently, UCLA was still playing to win although just a mere :50 remained.

So, the Bruins called a timeout. And just to make a point that they should have just let time run out, USC went play action and threw a deep ball to make it 28-7...

Is that bad sportsmanship? And if so, who started it?

USC tried to run out the clock. UCLA opted to not let that happen. USC did nothing wrong IMHO.

Not even close to the same.
