UK Bowl

Featured Replies

Would love to see UK against NAVY. Any remote chance of that happening?

You WOULD enjoy that one.

I would as well.

That would be my dream match-up! I love the triple option... love NAVY and would like to see Vince Murray from Ryle High School!

Of course I would love to see a UK vs. U Cincinnati match-up in a major BCS game... perhaps next year!

Navy is already in the Texas Bowl and the Texas Bowl is set up to host a Big 12 team in the other slot. The SEC has nine bowl slots, not including the two BCS games. There will be enough bowl-eligible teams in the SEC to fill all of those bowls, therefore none will be available to be selected by the Texas Bowl; ergo, the Cats will not be playing Navy.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! :thumb:

Dave Baker was talking about UK going to the Cotton Bowl today on the UK pregame. I don't see that one happening, to many if's.

Cats hold their own destiny in their hands. I like the Peach Bowl (Chic fil A). I know that the Outback Bowl is better but The Peach is in UK's recruiting backyard (Georgia) in primetime on New Years eve.

The rumor I hear is that a UK win over Tennessee could equal a Capital One Bowl (the old Florida Citrus Bowl) berth.

Their scouts will be at the game on Saturday for, what I have been told to be, the third time this season.

Too many SEC West teams to keep that one from happening, winner of Ark. LSU will go to Cotton.

Only chance of that is if Ole Miss loses to Miss. State. Cap One rep was on the Ole Miss post game show after their win over LSU and pretty much assured Ole Miss the Capital One Bowl is the Rebels beat Miss. State.

Lose to UT Chick Fil-A beat UT Outback.

Here is how I see all the bowls going.

NC-Alabama

Sugar-Florida

Capital One- Ole Miss

Outback-UT

Cotton-LSU

Chick Fil-A (peach)- UK

Music City-UGA

Liberty-Arkansas

Shreveport-Auburn

B-ham-South Carolina

Tampa would be great.

So the first requirement of three for a UK trip to Orlando has been fulfilled with the Rebels getting spanked today by Mississippi State.

Next, Kentucky has to beat Tennessee and then Arkansas will have to beat LSU.

It was always a long-shot, but not completely out of the picture. In my mind, the biggest upset of the three has now happened.

Where does the USC upset today put them?

South Carolina's win doesn't do much to hurt Kentucky if the Cats can knock off Tennessee. But if Tennessee beats UK, then I could imagine the Chick-fil-A Bowl possibly picking the Gamecocks over Kentucky.

The saving grace for Kentucky and the Chick-fil-A Bowl is that if Clemson loses to Georgia Tech next week they could end up in Atlanta. I don't believe the Chick-fil-A folks would want a Carolina/Clemson rematch.
