November 23, 200916 yr There is a possibliity that 6 teams (I think) can finish 7-5 in SEC. UT, UK, SC, UGA, Auburn, Arkansas. Then what happens? Which team would go to which bowl? Assume LSU and Ole Miss go to Cotton and Capital One. Could the Cats drop all the way down to Shrevport or Birmingham? Could they make it to Atlanta or even Tampa? If you are a UK fan you have to obviously hope UK beats UT but you should put aside conference pride and cheer for Clemson and Ga Tech to take care of business, should UK lose to UT. At 7-5 (3-5 SEC) UK wouldn't make Tampa, Atlanta would still be possible. But they could drop down to Shreveport at 7-5. I don't think that will happen, but it could.

The history of huge UK fan travel is a big feather in their cap. It would be hard for many bowls to pass on Kentucky if they are available.
November 23, 200916 yr Author I see UK going no lower than Music City and no higher than Outback and probably somewhere in the middle. Liberty Bowl wants Arkansas. It will depend on if Chick Fil a wants us or Auburn, if UK loses this weekend. UK won the head to head. I see Atlanta in the future.

November 23, 200916 yr ESPN this week has UK in the Music City bowl vs BC or FSU. While UT is in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl vs Clemson or Va Tech. UK wins they could change spots.

I was at the last Music City Bowl vs FSU (and the first one vs Syracuse), and while the most recent one was an exciting game, I would like to see a different opponent. But, ... a bowl game is a bowl game and it is better than sitting at home!!! Nice stadium, great town, ...

Sure UK travels well but so does every other 7-5 SEC team that they will be up against. UGA, Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, or LSU. They all travel well. And yes UK would have wins over two of them but with the same records the bowls could pass on UK for another team. Auburn is only an hour from Atlanta as is UGA so they would both be very attractive for the Chick-Fil-A in the current economy.

November 24, 200916 yr Hows comes? Navy is already in the Texas Bowl and the Texas Bowl is set up to host a Big 12 team in the other slot. The SEC has nine bowl slots, not including the two BCS games. There will be enough bowl-eligible teams in the SEC to fill all of those bowls, therefore none will be available to be selected by the Texas Bowl; ergo, the Cats will not be playing Navy.
