It was great to meet JohnDunhoft at the LCA game last night. In addition to having a great program, you guys also have great coaches & fans (in spite of my sometimes "spirited" discussions with some of you...!).

That isn't to much farther than going to Pikeville like we used to about 4 hours plus.

 

I don't disagree with going for it on 4th and 6. One, there was less than a minute left and Beechwood was out of timeouts. Two, Bellevue was punting the ball out of bounds to keep it away from Vocke and the punts were going maybe 20 yards? So not much gained by punting it. Three, with the score 20-7, if Bellevue can get a score there they are within one TD. Bellevue was receiving the second half kickoff so there was a chance to get back in the game. I think it was a good move going for it there.

 

However, not going 3 deep prevent was a mistake. It was a great call by Beechwood. They sent Vocke down the middle to draw the safety and Maus streaked down the sideline wide open. That was probably the best pass Rigdon has thrown all year as it hit Maus right in stride on the sideline and he took it to the house. If Bellevue goes 3 deep, that doesn't happen though.

It is still a long way to travel the day after Thanksgiving.....guess you have to pack those turkey sandwiches and hit the trail!

 

I talked to our principal last night. So far there is no plan for a booster bus, but that would be nice. Hopefully one will come together in the next few days.

Congratulations to Beechwood Tigers. What a program! What a Coaching staff! What tremendous athletics they have. The team speed was just ridiculous. The offensive speed didn't shock me, I expected them to score. What impressed me the most was the defensive speed and the way they flew to the ball. No way Bellevue simulates that in practice. I know I said after playing Frankfort last week I thought Bellevue was ready for the speed of Beechwood but as fast as I thought Frankfort was it wasn't even close.

 

As for my Bellevue Tigers, thanks for the ride. You went from a team so far off the radar in preseason no one even mentioned your name. By the play offs you had all the fans believing in you and being a top class A team. You have improved the entire year and should be very proud of the season you've had. Congratulations to the coaching staff on a great year. Thanks to Coach Eckstien for not only teaching our boys football but for setting a fine example of how to be a man.

 

One good thing is I'm still rooting for a Tiger to be State Champions! It's just a red and white tiger. Go get'em Beechwood and bring the State Championship back to NKY with you again.

Very nice post papa, and just what I would have expected from you. Bellevue and its fans were there in full force last night. I love the spirit, enthusiasm and heart that Bellevue exhibits throughout its program. It was a great year for the Bellevue Tigers.

Can somebody tell me what radio station was broadcasting the game last night from the booth? I know Tri-State Internet Sports was there, but who were the radio guys?

No, the game is at Mayfield.

Just like back in the late nineties, a really good class A team carries the hopes of highschool football fans from Campbell County to get past Beechwood and make it to the semi's. Then it was Dayton, who I believe, had they defeated Beechwood, would have won state. This time, I'm not as sure about Bellevue's chances of winning the title, but man they had a great season and made many folks east of the Licking proud. But Beechwood is still Beechwood, and that means great football achievement. So good luck Red Tigers, I'm counting on you to bring another crown back to Northern Ky.
