November 19, 200916 yr ^ I think his hiring will result in an immediate spike in season ticket sales. Are the willing to pay him more then basketball
November 19, 200916 yr ^ Pitino makes $4.5 million.....there are less than 4 coaches in the land worth that money.
November 20, 200916 yr ^ Pitino makes $4.5 million.....there are less than 4 coaches in the land worth that money. 2.5million base
November 20, 200916 yr 2.5million base Being the face they paid an unproven Kraggers 1.5, I don't see the 2-3 range being out of the question. They are in a bad situation with adding on the the stadium and fan interest being at a 15 yr low.
November 21, 200916 yr If Leach comes, maybe English will get tired of losing at Eastern Michigan and come back as DC. :popcorn:I'm sorry, but I have never understood the Ron English love affair.
November 21, 200916 yr I'm sorry, but I have never understood the Ron English love affair. The guy has a great defensive mind, there's really no other way to put it. Just curious, where does your doubt come from?
November 21, 200916 yr The guy has a great defensive mind, there's really no other way to put it. Just curious, where does your doubt come from? I think people overstate how good he is. They were really good in his 1 year as UM's coordinator and beat up on the slow Big 10. They had two huge games to end the season, tOSU and USC, and they were absolutely torched on defense. Then, UL's defense was not exactly that wonderful the past two seasons. In fact, they were horrible. We can cite lack of talent for UL, but they still had more than most Big East teams, and you would think with his great mind, they could have rallied the troops better than he did. Just my two cents. I have no doubt he is solid, but many make it out to be he is the best D coordinator out there, and I have not seen near the results to affirm that.

November 21, 200916 yr Does Louisville have a quarterback that can run that style of offense? Can they get one? I know where one is and he would love to go to UL!!!!!!!!!!!
November 21, 200916 yr I dont see how it makes sense for Leach unless he just really doesnt like where he is at now.
November 22, 200916 yr TT and Leach do not have the best relationship. It was just last year I believe they had a contract issue.

I really don't see how you think UofL had more talent on defense then most in the Big East that year. Statistically they were pretty good when he was here, but it wasn't his fault the offense couldn't score enough to win a game or give up awful field position on every other drive. UofL's defense has never been that great, even when they were chalk full of NFL talent they still underperformed but were always masked by a powerful offense. The guy is a great recruiter, excellent with the secondary and was Rivals DC of the year in '06. I think you have to be a little better than average for somebody to give you that award. I never really wanted him as the head coach but I'll take him as the DC any day of the week, especially here at UofL.
November 22, 200916 yr Author I've seen a lot of the national people writing that U of L could be a sleeping giant. Maybe Leach feels this as well?
