Could Johnson Central be the best team Highlands has played this year, including Cincinnati Saint Xavier? St. X was basically two-three plays away from being blown out by HHS (HHS had TOs within the five-yard line in that game), plus HHS' starting QB (and player of the game) Will Bardo was put out of the game early in the 4th quarter with an injury.

 

Could JC be the best opponent so far?

Others may opine differently, but I would say at this point a definite MAYBE. We won't really know until the game is played.

 

Of course, a related question may be whether this is a better game than the St. X game.

Should be interesting to see Friday night. St X went away from their "smash mouth" game and threw a bunch of screen passes. I don't think JC's going to switch up their game. You know they're going to run right at the 'Birds and keep running at them. If the 'Birds shut down the run and get up a couple scores, I don't think JC's going to be able to pass effectively enough to get back in the game.

Of course, a related question may be whether this is a better game than the St. X game.

 

That was a great game. It would be tough to top that one. I think most 'Bird fans would prefer a little more cushion than the St. X game.

Come on now JB, I have a good respect for JC, but I don't hardly think they qualify to be put in the same categorie as Cincy St. X, or any other GCL south team for that matter. They are on two completely different levels both as a program and a team.:idunno:

I dont think you can begin to compare JC to Cincy St.X. Come on,they gave up 41 to Scott and 32 to Cov.Cath.I think after X that Manual was probably the toughest we faced and will face until the state finals.:ylsuper:

Well, it wasn't that long ago when the Cincy St. X fans were laughing about how Highlands' defense had struggled to keep Class 1A Beechwood's offense off the field and off the scoreboard (even though BW has been down this year), and that Highlands' offense was inconsistent and underachieving. Highlands fans responded by saying that perhaps Highlands was holding some things back in the early-season games, so as not to tip their hand against St. X. What happened? HHS surprised St. X and won the game.

 

Now HHS fans seem to be laughing at how many points JC surrendered against teams like Scott, and at how one-dimensional JC's offense has been. Well, perhaps JC has been holding some things back, in preparation for this matchup... because let's face it, everybody knew that JC and HHS were going to run into each other in the playoffs this year.

 

JC has proven they can hang with the 'Birds, given how close the game was last year. Heck, one of the most knowledgeable HHS fans on BGP said at the end of last year that JC was the toughest KY team HHS faced all year long.

 

So, why is it so incredible to believe that JC is actually very, very good and will give HHS all they can handle Friday night???

How big of an issue is parking? Ive never been to a ballgame at Highlands but have been by the stadium. The parking lot in front of the school I assume fills up fairly quickly.

In order for you to be able to get a good parking space, you should have left Paintsville for Ft. Thomas about an hour ago.

That lot won't be accessible for parking. On-street parking is the best option. I would stay south of the school, toward the central business district. The real trick is to get there an hour or so before game time.
