The big stadiums is what I don't like. You know the players enjoy seeing big crowds and Papa Johns just made everything small and in my opinion Louisville is not a central location. I lived in Richmond for a while and think it would be a great place to host, but it's only fair to rotate that way both sides of the state have some traveling to do!

 

E-Town is around the center of the state. No college facilities near there except UL. Most people in the east and Lexington seem to forget that the western part of the state exists.

 

Louisville is the most central location with the best facilities. That said I don't mind the drive to Bowling Green. I love the town.

EKU would be much more convenient for those of us in the eastern portion of the state, as well as those in the central region. Richmond may be a little short on hotel rooms but Lexington is 15-20 minutes up I-75.

Papa Johns has been a great site for the event for a good # of yrs and I hate to see it go, but, I also think there will be something special about Bowling Green..It definately has the hotels and eating facilities to accomodate it, is about as central as you can get if not in Louisville and I think the smaller venue will bring alot of noise and excitement that Papa Johns sometimes lacks and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer or newer facility...

I also think that the ALL A should be rotated as well between Eastern, Western, Murray, and the NKU Arena.

 

 

 

Murray is much too far on one end of the state. It would take two days to get there from some places. If Murray gets it, Pikeville should get a turn.

Yes they do a very nice place.

I was there back in March visiting a friend and he decided to take me by the field. It looks really nice!

Hate to tell you this, but the state doesn't end west of I-75. The geographic center, as we have discussed in the past is near Elizabethtown. Might be closer to Lebanon Junction actually. Either way, anything East of Louisville makes it a huge haul for folks in the West and anything West of Louisville makes it a haul for those in the East.

 

Living in Louisville it isn't more than an hour and a half or so away to any of the venues so I am not that concerned. I will follow my Rocks to any location. I just get annoying at the Central and Eastern, KY bias that predominates these discussion. The state of Kentucky is more than the Mountains and Lexington folks. There is a Western part of the state that seems to be ignored in 90% of the complaints about venue.

 

I personally would have liked them to have stayed in Louisville. I am from Louisville, my team is from Louisville and for the entirety of my conscious life the finals have been in Louisville. That said I don't mind them being in Bowling Green. I think it has a great feel for a college town with a good stadium atmosphere and great venues for entertainment. It may be a college town, but it is a nice college town that really will make this a great time.

I think the location should be neautral. In past years state has just been a home game for some teams.

The actual geographic center of the state is Lebanon, in Marion Co. Nearest college to there is Campbellsville. Maybe someone could come up with the money to upgrade their stadium so they can host it and be fair to everybody.

What about the folks from NKY, where do they fall into this, or are they just out of luck? Its more than 3 hours for the folks from Covington, a bit further for those coming from the Maysville area, closer to 4 hours.
