I know some college sites have it where you can get a copy of their games and it really a Low price. I can get Bama games going back to the 60s.

Absolutely. As long as the mouse ran fast enough to keep the tape moving.

Good thread topic, I had an old tape of a HS game of mine and I let a buddy borrow it who ran an interception back 95 yards. Needless to say it never found its way back to my house. LOL

 

My former hoops coach lives up around the corner from me and he is retired now and from what I understand has a HUGE library of tapes from his 20 + years as coach. I keep telling myself I am going to stop by and ask if he minds that I browse the library and pull out some of the better games so I can get them converted.

I have 100's of games on tape and I am at the point where I am almost ready to give them all away.

They are taking up a lot of room.

I would be willing to bet that you could get a copy made of just about any game you may want. I'm sure CCH has just about every game somewhere. What years were you looking for, because I might be able to help you out as well.

Kevin Goetz was the kicker. He wasn't a captain though. Jarod Kees (far left) was the quarterback and punter, if that's who you're thinking of maybe.

How did you go about ordering the game, Clyde? I played in the '97 AAA championship and one of my brothers played in the '94 AAA championship. I wanted to see if I could potentially get ahold of mine, and maybe his for a Christmas present. Hell...I'd probably go ahead and order all of the Cov Cath championship games if they have them.

I sent Elden May at the KHSAA an email this past Friday to ask about how I could get ahold of the Cov Cath football state championship games (Elden is the KHSAA's director of sports information). He responded over the weekend and told me that they had recently had many of the state's championship game videos converted over from VHS to digital format, and gave me some contact info for the company they had do the converting so I could look into things a little further. I'll post on here what I find out.

Has anyone ever ever started a thread to set up film swapping amongst fans & alumni from different programs?

 

I've gotta say, it's one of my bigger regrets that I didn't ever keep copies of the game films from my days with Cov Cath, and I'd pay an awful lot - more specifically, whatever it would cost to mail tapes/DVD-R's to anybody who could duplicate a copy for me - to get my hands on them.

 

Anybody interest in setting up a "trade forum"?

Okay, so I emailed Elden May at the KHSAA to find out about how to get DVD copies of the state championship games. He gave me the contact info for the company who had taken all of the past films and transferred them to DVD, and through a few emails, I was able to find out that all of them are back in the KHSAA's archive file at the EKU Library's Special Collections & Archives Department. They can be obtained for $15 dollars each (as long as they are just being purchased for personal use). They said as long as the film was still on record, they should have all of them available for football and basketball.

 

1) Call the library's Special Collections & Archives Department (859-622-1792) and ask to speak with one of the archivists to verify that they do have the specific game you are looking for in the archive. They may or may not give you a specific archive number for the video.

 

2) Go to the Special Collections & Archives website, fill out and submit their audio-visual duplication form: HERE.

 

3) Print, and fill out the application to publish form: HERE.

 

4) Mail page 1 of the application to publish form, along with a check made out to "Eastern Kentucky University" for the appropriate amount. Schedule of fees is located HERE, along with the correct mailing address.

This is great! I just wish we had a list of what they have so we don't have to ask about a bunch of games.
