What yr did CovCath change colors of Blue in their unis? That was almost a navy blue...

That changed over roundabout 2005. We used to have dark royal blue pants and home jerseys with a navy helmet, then everything (including the helmet) went to a brighter royal blue around '05.

Wow that was an entertaining game. I remember many of those names. Skirvin, Rouse, Williams, Eviston, Wilson from East. Wischer was very good at QB for Beechwood. The Ohara kid was also very fast.

I played in the 98 game. I would love to see it.

I have a copy of the 1989 Manual Crimsons 13-1 team highlight film.

Also have copies of a ton of Doss Youth League 2002-2007, Stuart Spartans from 2008-2011, Oldham County Middle School 2013-2014.

Plus I have an all-time highlight film for the Louisville Bulls that ranges from 1989-2005. Love me some Videos!!!

I played in the 98 game. I would love to see it.

 

I've got 96, 97, and I think 02...but no 98. Sorry man. I'm going to be working on converting quite a bit of Cov Cath film from VHS to digital/DVD in the not-so-distant future.

 

...my wife is THRILLED about it too.

Okay, so I emailed Elden May at the KHSAA to find out about how to get DVD copies of the state championship games. He gave me the contact info for the company who had taken all of the past films and transferred them to DVD, and through a few emails, I was able to find out that all of them are back in the KHSAA's archive file at the EKU Library's Special Collections & Archives Department. They can be obtained for $15 dollars each (as long as they are just being purchased for personal use). They said as long as the film was still on record, they should have all of them available for football and basketball.

 

1) Call the library's Special Collections & Archives Department (859-622-1792) and ask to speak with one of the archivists to verify that they do have the specific game you are looking for in the archive. They may or may not give you a specific archive number for the video.

 

2) Go to the Special Collections & Archives website, fill out and submit their audio-visual duplication form: HERE.

 

3) Print, and fill out the application to publish form: HERE.

 

4) Mail page 1 of the application to publish form, along with a check made out to "Eastern Kentucky University" for the appropriate amount. Schedule of fees is located HERE, along with the correct mailing address.

 

I figured I'd give this a bump since I've had a couple of folks PM me to ask if I had or knew anything about obtaining state championship game films.
