I still think the Ratbirds are getting by on smoke and mirrors, and that they are an old team that gets way more hype than deserved, a lot of that due to that silly barking crap that Ray Lewis does.

 

The Bengals are a lot better than most years, but they took advantage of a mediocre team today. And as I said before, a half a season does not a complete turnaround make. There's a lot of games left the Bengals could lose. And Lord knows they know how to do it.

 

Unfortunately as a lifetime Cincinnati fan I know that's true. I just sit on the couch each Sunday and hope the good Bengals show up.

I didn't say that. I just said there's a lot of time left in the season, so Bengals fans need to avoid thinking they've already accomplished something.

I don't think anybody thinks that, but we are certainly proud of what we've done so far this season. 6-2 (4-0) with games against Oakland, Detroit, KC and Cleveland left. They have a great shot at making the playoffs.

I know the Steelers still have two games left against Baltimore. So I wouldn't be calling them mediocre yet, unless your going to call Pittsburgh mediocre if they lose to them, which could happen. :sssh:

 

I didn't realize all these Bengals are the same players that have played on all the losing teams from 1991... I have never understood how people can say these guys find ways to lose, when most of these guys haven't been around here that long. I mean the Bengals are the youngest team in the NFL when it comes to experience. So that means they have a lot of guys from college, who probably played on teams who won and are use to winning. As I been saying since the start of the season, years past mean nothing on any teams when it comes to the current season. It was easy to see at the very beginning of the season that this Bengals team is a different team and is a good team. Yeah just being 6 and 2 doesn't really mean to much now, since still a lot of season left to play. However this is a good team, and I don't know how you can keep saying otherwise if you have watched this team.

This is weird to say, but I think they knew Baltimore couldn't go 70 yards or more on them 3 times so they got conservative calling plays and running the clock out. Their receivers were shut down so bad that they put Ray Rice in the slot so they could throw the ball to someone w/o it getting picked or knocked down. Their two corners dominated that game.

Very true. Baltimore might be good if it had decent receivers. The Bengal corners were much better than the Baltimore recievers. I think this was a big difference in the game.

 

Jim- Lighten up a little and let us enjoy where we're at. I understand that things could implode, that's more the reason why we need to enjoy the best start in 20 years, and 4 wins over our division rivals.

Baltimore isn't used to having a crappy kicker. That guy has blown a couple of chipshots. Not saying that his miss yesterday would have made a significant difference in the game, but he makes that easy one and it's a one score game. Who knows? I bet Ray is in the office today pleading for his dismissal.:lol:

I agree. In this division, teams are so well adapted to what the other will do that you can throw common opponents out the window to a degree.
