That Campbell County team would be pretty darn good as would Kenton.

 

Campbell would have NCC, CC, Highlands, and Brossart all with good history, plus Dayon and Bellevue.

 

Kenton would have Cov Cath, SK, Dixie, Scott, Lloyd and Holmes not to mention Ludlow. Yea I'd say those teams could compete.:lol:

It really would depend on the coaching and some other factors where the ball gets dropped in Boone County.

It doesn't matter because it won't happen, before Ryle and Cooper, Boone County was for the most part Boone County.

Exactly. Look at Paul Dunbar and Henderson County, I don't see them showing Trinity and St. Xavier who's boss. Without a priority placed on football, a quality coaching staff, and building a quality/winning program the right way, a large Boone County school would just another school that everyone said should be a power house but isn't.

Which would contain about 3,000 or so boys so I would expect them to be able to put together top-of-the-line football teams if that actually happened. I'm not quite sure what the student population of St. X or Trinity is but I'd venture to guess that it is at least 1600+ and considering they are both all boy schools that would equate to roughly a 3200 student population of a boy/girl school. So thus I would expect Boone to win the majority of the games based on the sheer numbers they had as they could be very selective about who they wanted for their team.

 

It's not all about numbers, remember Boone County once had that advantage, and they still came away with nothing but the "state at large" championship......

A catholic school and they could take from all of the 4 schools. This would be the worst nightmare for the Louisville teams or any 6A team in KY.

 

Even if you combined Ryle and Boone you have a powerhouse. But its not happening, infact the exact opposite has happened and Cooper was built which only makes NKY 6A weaker.

 

St. Henry is totally missing the boat by not putting together a football team. The student tuition they would pick up by having football would cover a lot of the cost. They lose students every year to surrounding schools like the Boone County Schools, Lloyd, Dixie, Beechwood, Cov Cath and Holy Cross because of football.

How many kids would no longer get a chance to play HS football if there were these mega high schools? What's the point? Playing in the state championship? Besides, the road map to the promised land is right over there in Ft. Thomas. No more kids win athletic scholarships if a team wins a state championship. Bragging rights? I think that is needed sometimes to keep certain private school's enrollment up.

I've had a few friends that went through St. Henry say they wished they could've played football in HS. Some pretty good athletes too.

You forgot Beechwood, I'm sure they would have a kid or two play.

There would also be a lot less kids getting the opportunity to play a sport as a teammate to their friends.
