Shawnee forfeits games…brackets changed

Featured Replies

I think this in the end benefits Hills they will have a better chance stopping the run than the passing game of E-town.

It is the same amount of prep time for both teams. No Big deal. At this stage of the year you have seen plenty of defense and offensive schemes.

Doesnt the short study time affect all the teams that had games switched? So, it really is no advantage or disadvantage to anyone.

Western Hills' staff had already gone over film and formulated a game plan. Team went over basics yesterday and watched game film of E-town, now all for nothing. I am assuming it will be today/tonight before Hills gets film of Shawnee. Would mean at least tomorrow before the team gets a game plan, which only leaves 2 real days of practice. This really puts Western Hills behind on preparation. Anyone have any idea about Shawnee's off./def. schemes? Hills had geared def. game plan for E-town's passing attack, which I am sure is much different from what Shawnee runs.

Not really...By this time in the season, you have seen various offensive and defensive schemes....Just focus on situations and Personnel, and Hills will be fine....Best of luck to Coach Miller Wolverines.:thumb:

If Shawnee does not prepare at all then yes it matters. For teams that have to prepare it does.

Schemes or not, you still have to watch and watch and watch film to chart THAT particular opponent's tendencies by formation/down-distance/etc, evaluate their personnel at every position, chart the distance of their punts/kickoffs, time how long it takes the snaps to get to the punter and holder, and on and on and on!

I feel REALLY bad for those coaches who put in all that time on their weekends already (takes our staff about 20 hours total on Saturdays and Sundays...not to mention re-watching it every night through the week to pick up anything you might've missed over the weekend) who now have to try and find time to do that at night this week AFTER teaching all day and practicing all afternoon.

The only solace would be that if they happen to play the team they already mistakenly prepared for later in the playoffs.

Anyone predict 3 wins for Ft. Knox this season? I don't care if one of them was a forfeit or not, that's great for those young men.

I totally agree with all of your post Coach J. :thumb:

I don't think they will ever see E'town this year. E'town dropping to the lower bracket, makes this game almost a dream game. Central is loaded and getting better.
