November 1, 200916 yr Tate should get there, but he probablly won't. I think some teams would have to lose, and Notre Dame would have to have a pretty decent ranking at the time of the voting though. ND would probably also need to be in line for a BCS Bowl as well, IMO. ND's schedule isn't that bad. The teams they have played may not all be BCS bound, but they aren't garbage IMO. Even Washington could give a pretty good team trouble on the right day.
November 1, 200916 yr Author I agree totally. He also had 4 rushes for 61 yards and a TD. I think Oregon is the playing the best in college football right now, and Masoli should get a lot of credit for that. If they keep it up he deserves a ticket to NYC. I'm not taking anything away from Masoli, but LaMichael James has had a lot to do with that as well.

November 1, 200916 yr Author He has really stepped up big time. He has, considering he was a second string wide receiver at the beginning of the year. It's weird, but I thought this year's Running Back class was weak, but mid-way through the year I'd be hard pressed to find a position better than running back in the country.

November 1, 200916 yr Right now I couldn't pick anyone, but if you mention Tim it would be on his past, not what he has done this year, sometimes an injury can hurt your chances. Colt needs a few more good stats games, Mark has three huge games left and one patsy. The QB for the BearCats if he started the season and played early like he has lately. So there is no clear favorite for me. Bama has never had one, but I kinda like the tradition of never having one. Bear always said we win championships not Heismans...Now Bear had one, anybody know who it was?

We are a stat driven sports universe and the Heisman has turned into a statistical award, so if Tebow wins it this year I can see where some would have a beef. I still take him to win the Heisman. Why is it that Mark Ingram is so high on the Heisman list? I think he is having a very good year, but he isn't even the best running back in the country IMO.
November 1, 200916 yr BIG, IMO is the key, I don't like midseason talk, its for the fans. Mark has a chance to improve his chances. Remember, we also use two other backs, and the Gators are all Timmy.
November 1, 200916 yr Such a shame Pike of UC got injured, he was looking tough and was in the Heisman discussion until his injury.
November 1, 200916 yr Such a shame Pike of UC got injured, he was looking tough and was in the Heisman discussion until his injury. I read today that Pike is the 3rd rated SR qb by a draft expert. A bit surprising.
November 1, 200916 yr I'd say right now Ingram is the favorite and if he continues to put up the numbers he has been, he should come away with the trophy...
November 2, 200916 yr Actually 9 teams may be bowl bound... He said BCS bound when there are plenty that may night even be bowl eligible... big difference.

If we are just talking about this year then Tebow isn't the best QB in the country either.
