Highlands vs Covington Catholic Frosh Finals Predictions

Featured Replies

If CovCath does not beat themselves, give up big plays, I think CovCath wins.

They have to get to "the birds" early and keep there foot to the pedal.

On a side note CovCath's 7th, 8th and Freshman all will have played in the champsionship game this year. With the 8th graders win the big school division of the NKMSFL, and the 7th losing in OT in the small school division.

Should be a very good game wish I could be there.

Not familiar with the 7th and 8th grade leagues. What schools are playing in it?

Remember for those who can't attend the game it will be broadcast live via CovCath Internet Radio.

There was/is a large thread about the NKMSFL in the General Forum!

Highlands 28 to Cov. Cath. 14. IMO home team runs away with this one in the second half.

Forecast for Thursday is 70 degrees and beautiful. Should be a great day for a great game.

Thanks, found it.

I hope everyone comes out for this titanic tussle. It will have that "CC-HHS rivalry" feel that the varsity games have been missing for the past few years. I predict a GREAT game and Birds win a nail biter at home by TURNING THE MOOSE LOOSE!! (McCoy). Go Birds!

If the HHS O Line plays to it's potential this should be a great war in the trenches. Looking forward to a good ole fashion pounder here

Usually working on Thursday nights but will have to cut out time for this one! I'm going with the Birds 20-14.

Huh? You working nights...

I know the prior game was broadcasted and I thought the guys in the booth did a great job! I couldn't make the game due to working Wednesday evening. But doesn't this take away from the gate receipts? (Especially in consideration the folks broadcasting are from Cov Cath.) Hosting this event- lights, cameras, concession clean-up, etc. is a major cost to the hosting school.

I just wonder how many actually stay home at Cov Cath due to the guys in the broadcasting booth. They are excellent, but are they keeping the faithful off campus? Seemed to me the home bleacher section was skimpy at the last HHS / Cov Cath contest.

I can honestly say that I've ever opted out of going to a game just because I could simply listen at home instead...but that's just me.

I would think if the host schools had these concerns they could tell the opposing school broadcast team No, you can't broadcast. :idunno:

I think that may have happened in the past, but I'm not positive. TheOldGuy or CovCathiRadio could probably clarify that though. I think it's definitely a school's right to prohibit them from broadcasting, for sure, but I don't think - at least at this point in time - that it would be worth their while to do so. I can't imagine that there are that many people opting to stay home and listen right now when they would otherwise go to the game.

I don't think it will have any effect. While we all enjoy the broadcast its not the same as being there.
