I know FCHS has plenty of talent. They have a ton of skill kids with good speed. DO you think the problem is just the talent is so young?

Yes, they do have plenty of young talent with good speed such as Timmons, Lackey, Jones and others. The talent being too young can no longer be an excuse though as these kids have played 8 games of Varsity football. They have a small senior class with only two of the kids playing all 4 years. The lost Damian Hicks, their best player, at the beginning of the season and Michael Chenault is no longer with the team. The kids are just not confident and it reflects back on the head coach. He shows no emotion what so ever and it is beginning to reflect on the kids. He is the most predictable offensive coordinator I have ever seen. Youth can no longer be an excuse. No playoffs equals a very, very disappointing season.

Just look at the track record 2-8 his first year at Berea then 8-2 and 3 winning seasons at Berea, 0-10 first year at Clay to 8-2 and if you want to change coaches everytime things don't go right then you will never build anything. Don't forget where FC was before Ammons, not sure about the spelling, came around. He and a run of good athletes made that program and given the time this young talented group of players will build up to be just as good, but you have to give it time.

27 or 75 players,you can only play 11 at a time on both sides of the ball! Way to go CATS! Congrats to coach Teegarden and the dedication from his young players.

Don't forget it was Coach Walker who brought in "The System" and got kids back out to play football at FC. He brought excitement and enthusiasm that had not been there. That 1st year was a winning season and a trip to the playoffs after 0-10 and 2-8 seasons under Coach Roberts. Just sayin. :thumb:

They didn't have Ammons the last 2 years? The only way Stepp will win at FCHS is by creative scheduleing. Then again if you can't beat PC (no slight on PC, but FC should always be the fav) then scheduleing isn't going to get much easier. They had YOUNG athletes (Ammons was a frosh, and his supporting cast were Soph.), yet they won and made the playoffs in a much tougher district. Coaching plays a part at some point...that point was last night.
