I voted Andy Griffin (misspelled on purpose in honor of the irregardless thread). As far as family comedies go, it's hard to beat Andy. I catch it occasionally on TV land and it is STILL as funny now as it's ever been.

Even though I've never really watched Happy Days...Boy Meets World stands out as not fitting at all with the other three shows you list.

This is really tough for me. It's between The Andy Griffith Show and The Simpsons. Not sure if I can pick.

 

You have a wide range of taste. These two shows are polar opposites. I love TAGS and would rather watch an unplugged t.v. than the Simpsons.

I was just putting shows that had families and were more family oriented. The whole "TGIF" that used to be on included that so a lot of families used to sit and watch those shows on Friday night. I agree it's the odd ball of the 3 though.

Wonder Years is the best.

I love Andy Griffith, and I was a huge fan of Leave it to Beaver in my younger days. I just believe Andy Griffith is a classic that will never be topped.

 

I have to agree. If I am channel surfing on TV and come across The Andy Griffith Show, I almost alway stop and watch.

There have been so many great ones over the years! Andy Griffith, Cosby, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days, Lucy, Seinfeld, Barney Miller, Taxi, etc. etc. etc.

 

I guess I need to know what constitutes a "family comedy". Our family never missed All in the Family, for example, but is it a family comedy? That would be my favorite.

 

Of those on the list, I'll go with Andy Griffith; as Don Knotts' Barney Fife may be the best sidekick of all time. NIP IT!

I would lean towards Cosby in a slight edge over Andy Griffith because Cosby was more family focused than Andy Griffith. But in the end, I voted for Andy Griffith because it is my favorite of all time.

I liked Sanford and Son a whole lot even though it was before my time. I really like Yes Dear and Still Standing too.

I do have a wide range of choices and LOVE both shows. Since it says "family" comedy when pushed I'd probably pick Andy and the guys. But I can appreciate any show that I consider good, whatever the style.

I mis understood the question, I thought it meant a show with a Comedy Family and I thought of Married With Children, which I think was a longer running show than any listed. Maybe The Simpsons is longer? Why don't I just back to football/Religion.
