The reality is that most pollsters have not seen all teams in person and tend to lean towards regions they are familiar with. They have to go by recent performances, expectations, and records. You basically start with a set poll and as teams lose they drop just to be replaced with a team that won.

 

I have seen Bellevue play. They play tough and probably deserving of a top ten spot.

That may be true with some polls. But I can assure you that is not how the BGP poll is conducted.

I guess their should be 12 slots for 10 teams. That would make most fans happy. Keep putting 4 teams in a tie position. We do want everyone to be happy don't we. You must be politicaly correct. I'm sure Mayfield and Beechwood thinks they should be #1. Can't we have a three way tie. Can't we all just get along. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Get over it . Polls are polls. It only gauges what some people with a football knowledge think. It's all a guessing game. They do thier best. Thats why it changes every week. No matter if its high school or college. No poll is going to be right 100%. If your team isn't in the top 10 this week then don't lose next week. If you are close to being in the top 10 and you beat a top 10 team. I beat you will end up in the top 10 the following week. No big deal. Prove it on the field. It doesn't matter what you are ranked right now. It's what you are doing in your district games right now. I really don't think Pikeville should be in the top 10. 1. They have a record of 3-4. 2. They haven't won two games in a row all season. 3. They have been beaten by score of 18, 34, 49 and 56 points. I don't care what kind of schedule you play. If you lose by those scores and you lose that many times you shouldn't be in any top 10. A AA AAA AAAA or whatever. But I'm not whining!!:lol::idunno:

Lets face it polls are part of the High School Football experience. If you can't get on here and make an argument for your team to be in top ten if that is what you believe then what is the point of the site? The guys making the polls do a great job but they aren't going to be right 100% of the time, and if they were what fun would that be?

That would really muddy the waters. The further down the line you get the closer the teams are in talent. But I'm up for it. It could be fun.:dancingpa

Massey & BGP are the two most accurate polls out there bar none! Massey is a formula and BGP seems to be a group of high school enthusiasts...

I'd say the top 4 or 5 are about right. Anything else is a guess. In about 2 weeks the polls don't matter anyway. How you did in your district and getting home field is what its about.
