Bluegrasspreps.com, the leader for Kentucky high school sports news and discussion, has released the following 1A rankings for October 13, 2009.

 

1. Lexington Christian vs. #8 Raceland

2. Mayfield -- OPEN

3. Beechwood at Bishop Brossart

4. Crittenden County at Fulton City

5. Frankfort at Gallatin County

6. Hazard vs. Jenkins

7. Louisville Holy Cross vs. Kentucky Country Day

8. Raceland at #1 Lexington Christian

9. Pikeville at Betsy Layne

10. Fairview vs. Nicholas County

Just curious how are these ranking are picked?

Apparently, not very well.

I think the rankings look right on target. The only team I think might deserve recognition is Bellevue but I am sure they are ranked #11 just waiting to jump into the top 10.

Probably more accurate than any others.

The first 6 or 8 teams look spot-on to me. Folks from Bellevue might have a gripe, but that's about it.

 

I'd take the BGP rankings over the AP any day.

All the ratings are pretty similar with the same teams highly rated and there just being a slot or two difference. The one big difference is Bellevue is in the top 10 in all the ratings except BGP.

Kinda like the formula for Coke. The few people that know are not permitted to travel together.

BGP has a group of very knowledgeable and dedicated individuals that put in a lot of time researching to provide our Rankings.
