I haven't written anybody off yet. Sure he was like 2/8 when he came into play but it was first real actual game experience in a major SEC battle. He threw some really nice balls including one to TC Drake in the endzone. After observing Drake I have no idea as to how he was/is being considered for the John Mackey award (Nation's best TE). He has had an absolute abysmal season this year.

That was pretty much my point. I know you have to be ready if the starter goes down but to expect anyone to come in and light it up in that situation is silly.

Completely agree:thumb:.

Fidler has put in the time give him a chance and, if he's not getting it done try Newton.

My guess is this is how it will play out.

I look for Morgan Newton to get some playing time at home against Louisiana-Monroe, regardless of how well or poorly Will Fidler plays against Auburn.

I didn't want to give Fidler a chance to begin with. I don't see the gain in letting him be the QB. Let the freshmen get some experience so the team has something to look forward to. Newton is at least an athlete playing QB and can make plays with his feet. If Fidler was so much better than Hartline he would have started to begin with.

I don't think anyone will say that Will Fidler is better than Mike Hartline. Obviously the UK coaches do not feel that way.

I will go on the record saying that Will Fidler throws a better ball than Mike Hartline.

I would like to know that completeion percentage of Mike Hartline on passes of 20 yds. +

I find it amusing that the majority want a freshman to get the start and it's not even the better of the two freshman for UK's style of offense.

Is Mossakowski even 100% back with his shoulder? I don't think Brooks has even mentioned him as a possibility this year.

That might be a difficult request to produce, but my guess would be it is a single digit percentage.

No he is not.

It has been nearly a year since the surgery and I am sure there is some question as to if he will come back to near 100%.

The UK coaches hope that his work in the weightroom will help in his comeback.

Who said he was better? And unless you are packing in the season you don't let the freshman play just to get them experience. UK still has a chance at a bowl and you go with who gives you the best chance to win.

Good point, I forgot he had surgery.

Right now, you have to go with Fidler, with some Wildcat mixed in. Get Newton a lot of snaps in practice and get him some reps, beginning with LA-Monroe.

Hartline has a complete MCL tear and a partial PCL tear. There is no ACL damage. It is possible that Hartline could return near the end of the season.

Newton and Fidler will be competing for the starting position.

This comes from UK.

Good work, "Wireman".

There is no ACL tear or injury. There is a complete tear of the MCL off the femur, small cartliage tear and small PCL tear.

I have been told, based on what they now know, they are hopeful Mike Hartline might be back by the Georgia, maybe Vanderbilt game.

I don't see him coming back this season, maybe if UK gains bowl eligibility.

I could absolutely see UK playing 3 QB's this Sat. Fidler to start, put in some (a lot) of the Wildcat with Cobb. While also getting Newton in about the 3rd series and see what he can do.
